The parents of a six year old girl that was patted down by airport security went on Good Morning America to discuss the incident. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian give their take.

1. They don't have to explain anything, they're security!?!?!
Just come back from Gestapo training, Cenk?

My opinion of him just cratered.

3. The only way to turn back the tide on this fear based life style is to do
investigations into 9-11. We already know that there is, not enough info. from 9-11 investigations, to put this country through this kind of prison mentality when families are traveling....

4. If the TSA won't pat down a six year old ....
... and you wanted to get a weapon onto a plane wouldn't you hide the weapon on a six year old?

8. And the f..king magnetometer would go off like a...
christmas tree. Please! Currently you go through a scanning device (either x-ray or millimeter wave), a magnetometer or you get the pat down. In many cases even if you go through the scanner you will also have a secondary pat down because any aberration via the scan will prompt the idiots to pat you down. It is my opinion as a frequent flyer who has observed the TSA in action many times that the scanners are too sensitive. Just last week in Houston I saw them pat down a nun after she went through the scanning device because she had too many cloths on. That is what the TSO said to her while I was repacking by briefcase. I hope they were not using an x-ray scanner on this small child. That would really be stupid on the part of the TSA... but from my experiences with the TSA.... The TSO who patted down the child is nothing more than a child molester IMO. We teach our children that strangers should not touch you in certain ways and this very young child was touched inappropriately.

13. The TSA might know of weapons that wouldn't set off their scanners or ...
... why pat down anyone?

I doubt those rules are there just because they like to feel up kids.

9. No doubt
I understand Ana's points but this is the world we now live in---the way we've become.

Yes--a terrorist could plant something on a six year old and you would think a scanner could catch that. Did something happen with the scanner? We don't know--apparently they wouldn't explain to the mother why they were doing the pat down. I suspect it's unusual because if it weren't we'd be seeing videos of six year olds getting patted down all over the internet.

I'm just saying we don't know why they did it because we don't have the information.

I'm also saying that because this is what we have come to there is no doubt the terrorists who struck us on 9/11 won.

We are stuck in two wars that seem endless, we have no-fly lists, kids getting patted down--all this changed due to one act.

We are a fearful nation--easily ruled by those who push those fear buttons. I'm not saying it's wrong to be cautious but we've gone a bit over the edge.

This is America in the 21st century.

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself" has become, "We fear everything."

14. I'm not the TSA so I don't know what they need but ...
... I assume that they know of things that can get through the scanner. They seem to be checking her very thoroughly - feeling through her hair and such.

I do not believe they simply want to slow the line down or scare little children.

The fact remains you can't have a procedure that applies to all but one class of person or that class of person will be used to exploit the system's weakness.

10. If people want to stop TSA patdowns, GET GROSS :D
don't bathe for a couple of days before the flight. Don't use deodorant.

Eat beans or milk or whatever gives you hellacious, non-stop gas.

This will keep you perpetually armed and ready to fire should they ask you to step out of line.

Should any agent realize they made a mistake calling you out of line to be patted down, you can let 'em go, apologizing profusely for your inability to control it.

Constantly and visibly reach back and try and scratch your backside, and complain to yourself about hemorrhoids being out of control.

When it's your turn to get patted down ask them for a tissue, because you peed on your hand.

These are only a few ideas, I'm sure there are many more.

If you can use your imagination, you will realize it should make TSA agents give you a pass to avoid the cloud of stink that comes with you; to avoid touching someone so visibly disgusting and ill mannered.

Once you are through the line you can go give yourself a wipe down in the bathroom LOL
