2. Such a clever Heritage Foundation Fundie, elite, |

He kept calling Cenk, "Yank." Haw... It disappointed me, when he started talking about America's huge corporate taxes, that no one mentioned the fact of G.E. or the hundreds of other corporations who did not pay any taxes ($14 billion in profits) and actually got back (3 million?) in tax money. He said that "the wealthy are taxed at 40%" another lie.Because of our tax codes, small taxes on investment returns, the wealthy pay less than 15% in taxes and using accounting tricks, usually little or none. They will freely admit that they pay a smaller % of taxes than their workers. We have the lowest tax rate on the wealthy since 1928. We know what happened next. It has to happen again and again until we stop being ruled by the wealthy.

That's the money line in the entire debate.
Those of us in the bottom 98% are letting those in the top 2% buy the government and use it to extract public wealth to send it toward the already very rich.
Wisconsin has shown us that WE THE PEOPLE can still have an impact. We have to stop fighting each other and get our collective acts together and elect Politicians that work for the people that elected them, not the wealthy elites that buy them.
Preaching to the choir like what I'm doing right here on DU is ineffective. I also engage people in daily life about this every chance I get. "Yeah, I lost my job the end of March*, but what takes the sting off is knowing that at least GE did not pay any income taxes last year on profits of 14 billion."
I'm also gonna get some vinyl cut with a message for my Ranger tailgate. As soon as I can come up with something suitable for my highly passionate iconoclastic view on all this.

*true - along with 25 colleagues. the multi-national corporation we worked for will now get all product from their plants in Mexico and China, and perhaps a few vendors in the USA to continue to make the stuff we used to.

Tax the wealthy and it won't balance the budget. Really ? Who cares, it's about lessening the burden on the middle-class and the poor you idiot. You have wealth. You can afford to pay more. The rest can't. Shared sacrifice, ever hear about it ? You aren't privileged because you have money, you still sit when you shit just like everyone else. Pay your share. 3% isn't going to break you.

Ernie Isthook - rude, pompous, condescending and "factually challenged."
What a lying blowhard.
I loved Joan Walsh's "lovely."

the Republicons start answering their own made up on the spot question when they can't answer whats being asked. "If you take everybody in the country that makes over 100k..." NO ONE expects to make up the deficit just by taxing the rich, you dipshit.
