I did not like the end bit about the Rich not being the problem
But his bit on Gaddafi was interesting

In any case one thing that he said could be interesting for us dems

We should go to Tea Party rallies and teach them about our plans
Fine, he says we don't understand the tea party
but also perhaps they don't understand progressives
Watching Faux News all the time will not teach them about being progressive either

Should we take his invite and dilute?

4. I think Term Limits will be taken up at the same time as ...
Congress addresses decreasing their PERKS ... LOL!
Hey, we have the foxes guarding the hen house, here. Why in the world would they want to consider ever limiting how long they stay in Washington? These guys have built a big wall of separation between the real world and Washington, DC. First we gotta get these politicians to where their policies affect them like everyone else. Until that happens, politicians will continue playing the smoke & mirrors games.
For example, how easy would it be to get the undocumented workers problem resolved? Just pass and enforce laws that prohibit employers from hiring undocumented workers, and BINGO ... most of them suddenly go home. Won't happen 'cause corporations & Big Money is involved. Mexico loves us right now ... we take care of their poor; how sweet!

6. I should have made it sound facetious
As it was meant to be. My bad.

8. Term limits bad - Public Finance campaigns good
You'd have a series of Corporate boys running just to change the law to their advantage.
THe only thing that can solve the problem is to get corporate money out of politics.

3. Going to Tea Party Rallies ...
Two thoughts to that ... one, I'm hearing that the number of attendees to these TP rallies is rapidly decreasing as the TP's intent on how they want to solve the deficit surfaces and becomes more clear to voters.
Second, even if you went to a TP rally, you'd be shouted down ... interrupted ... and possibly even assaulted.

Paul does make a point that I think everyone has to agree on ... that spending is way out of line and needs to be addressed. Everyone has oppinions on this, but whatever happens to effectively address the spending MUST come from everyone, not just one part. Rich, poor, corporations, etc all need to pay their fair shares. Wouldn't hurt if US could get itself detached from a couple wars, and decrease military spending as well. But, it can NOT come on the backs of the middleclass AGAIN! Heck, at this point, I wouldn't have a problem with Obama totally stopping ALL of the Bush era tax decreases, if only for a couple years.

7. I Went to First Tea Party Rally 2009
After having a beer, I went with a sign that just said "TAX THE RICH" and I had people come up to me and ask why.
I had one or 2 guys that got a little heated when I was standing near the back with my sign.
I mostly told them that the tax rate on the rich in the 1950's was 91%, about 3 times higher than it is today and Eisenhower refused to lower them. He warned us of the UNWISE TAX CUTTER. (Which would be Reagan and Bush).
Some said I was a liar of course-just basically all the stuff they throw back at me everyday on FOXNATION.com.
Then I tried to get in front of the cameras but it seems they were trying to ignore me. But it was quite exciting and fun.

I couldnt go yesterday but if I did I would have had a sign that said "Tax the Rich" on one side and "Cut the Military Industrial Complex" on the other.
