25 years after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, residents of the area are still exposed to the radiation. They depend on contaminated food and milk.

1. What are those contamination levels in food/milk?
And how do they compare to Fukushima today?

2. Comparing to Fukushima today
This is about the easiest to understand article I came across that compares the contamination from Chernobyl to Fukushima:

http://www.businessinsider.com/level-7-fukushima-vs-chernobyl-how-do-they-really-compare-2011-4

In short, the present contamination is not as great in Fukushima as was seen in Chernobyl, *but* because the Fukushima disaster is expected to continue for months, and because of it involving multiple reactors as well as the MOX (the combination of uranium and plutonium) and the spent fuel rod pools...the potential exists for Fukushima to far exceed Chernobyl in terms of deadly nuclear contamination.

I'm sure there is an environmental group out there with a report that gives a more comprehensive evaluation, and while I am no scientific guru, I'd be surprised if it gives much hope for any of the people in Japan who will continue to have to depend upon farming to survive.
