Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) suggested the 'gang of six' would be open to cutting social security in a Face The Nation interview.

As I recall the "deficit commission" never actually agreed on any recommendations. Instead, Simpson and a couple of others pre-empted the whole process by giving a press conference about their particular recommendations since they couldn't get the requisite number of members to disagree. What a disgrace these 3 dems are!: Warner, Durbin, and Conrad.

Uncut DC needs to pay these guys a visit. Maybe UnCut and MoveOn can organize something big along with union leaders, we need daily demonstrations.

4. I live in Virginia.

I can say without reservation that the last moderate democrat from this state was Thomas Jefferson. There never has been a liberal politician that I can recall. But for plantation dick heads like Warner (who know better) Virginia might have sided with the Union in 1860. That would have pretty much ended the unpleasantness to come before it began and slavery would have been abolished anyway and without war.

But I digress. There's never been a liberal government at any level anywhere in this country that I can think of with the possible exception of the Berkley Town Council back in the 70s, or maybe the George Moscone city government in San Francisco in the 80s. Please! someone tell me that I'm wrong about this and back it up with solid evidence and good opinions.
