Apparently its an everyday practice in Canada to take a baseball bat or crowbar to a boar's snout (after cutting off the tusks with bolt cutters). Its easier and cheaper to transport them to the slaughter house that way as they are in so much pain they can't fight among themselves while they are crammed together in a trailer.

3. Lived in Canada all my life..

but this is the first time I've heard of this. Most of us aren't privy to the details of getting livestock from the farm to the slaughterhouse...at least for those of us living in the cities

4. It just baffles me how any human being can be so cold bloodedly callous

as to inflict this type of suffering on another sensate being and to do it routinely and apparently, from all we can tell, without compunction and without suffering from any pangs of conscience. Maybe I've just lead a very sheltered life.
