1. That's such a fucking lie, no one favors Abortion, no one. Does anybody know anyone who"favors" the
procedure know as "ABORTION?".......these people are sick, warped and demented. I suppose that was not meant to be a factual statement either. Christianity has taken on an ugly, dirty, filthy meaning to me and I grew up a Roman Catholic. I have never equated Christians with anything but love, caring, sharing and kindness. I don't see that in most Christians anymore, especially the Republicon Breed of alleged Christian. So I here and now, finally, being pushed and pushed and pushed, renounce my Christian beliefs. I will instead believe in love, kindness, caring and concern for others as a Universal Power, unrelated to any organized, man made religion. No one favors Abortion you sick bastards. Thanks for showing me the way Christians, you just lost another one.

3. I think so many people have lost sight of just what
Christianity was supposed to be, and they have twisted it into something that justifies their hate, which may seem worse now more than ever.

One of the things I believe, when watching what is going on of late, is that the antichrist is not a person or being, but a way of thinking, to which many "Christians" are being fooled into following, just as it predicts in the Bible (that people will be fooled by the antichrist). St. Agustine taught something similar - that the antichrist is within us, and not a being or person.

I think your idea of believing in love, kindness, caring and concern for others as a universal power is probably the closest to "Christianity" one could get because it's what I believe was the original, pure idea, (or the bottom line, so to speak). People can run around saying they accept Christ, but they seem to forget that just "accepting" Christ means nothing if you don't follow goodness. My personal belief is that, no matter whether you believe Christ was the messiah or not, or that He even existed, it's actions that speak louder than words (i.e. love, kindness, caring and concern for others). My sister believes (and has been brain-washed by her church) that, no matter how good of a person you are in this life, if you don't "accept Christ", you won't go to heaven. What a screwed up idiology that is, and if that's what she believes Christ is all about, then He is only in it for the worship? How arrogant is her God?

7. Wow, who are you? I wish the world were full of those like you and I accept your premise that
the "antichrist" is not a person or being, but a way of thinking. A comment like yours, coming from a person like you, gives me hope. I read your post 3 times and thought, "wow, what a wonderful person this is" I just got this feeling, this person believes this, just as I do and all the garbage coming from organized Christianity is just that, garbage. It's not a surprise that so many people have moved away from Christianity, it has indeed been hijacked by an "evil" force and a hate that I have never seen before in an alleged "Christian" system of belief. The anger the hatred, the arrogance and the picking and choosing what to adhere to and what not. Thank you for your post and thank you for proving to me, that there are others who think the way I do, not just that you agree, but that we are on the side of what is right in this agreement. All my best out to you friend.

9. Exactly, I want this moran to prove what he says. Where are all of the people "liberals" who cheer
abortion, love abortion, can't wait to have an abortion? The religious right is getting crazier by the minute. Did you watch Lawrence O'Donnell last night where he asked the religious nut Franklin Graham whether "he would give up everything for Christ", and how Graham looked stunned, couldn't speak at first and then instead of answering the question, went into a rant about how he gave his alleged soul to Christ at 22 blah blah blah.......never once answering the question. The man is a religious fraud plain and simple.

5. Why is Robertson not in
a psychiatric ward? The man is obviously seriously mentally ill if he truly believes what he is saying.

11. Why aren't half of the Republicans in our government in psychiatric wards? Unfortunately, these
people have money and power on their side. Robertson is a religious corporation, he doesn't care about people or what his words convey, he's in it for the money and power and very rarely, are those with all the money and power, (even as nutty as they are), institutionalized in psychiatric wards or prisons where most of them really belong. Sadly, they roam free to destroy all that is right, with all of their doings of "evil" and wrong.

6. His mental decline is perceptable.
:(

The majority favors Roe V Wade. Nice to hear that 70% of Americans are so willing to try to get Lesbian citizens to notice them.

12. We are discussing it because someone started a post on a discussion board to share their upset
with something that concerned them, no matter where it came from. Why are certain topics off limit to you and therefore, should not be discussed by others? Corporate news channels give most of the information to our people, so we better know what they're saying in order to refute their lies here. You go ahead and make the choice to stop listening to that which might harm you in the future, and the rest of us will monitor those people and discuss their lies and hypocrisy to out them for what they are. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. I appreciate what you're trying to say, but just as you have the right to say it, we have the right and freedom to ignore your authoritative demand, that we "Stop listening to corporate news" because you say so. Life doesn't work like that, at least not here at DU.
