I am never embarrassed by clowns, even when they strut and toot their bulbous red noses on center stage. The fact that corporate media erects the stage and is ring master of the circus causes me no shame as an American either. It has always been that way here. There never was a golden age of American enlightenment. There has only been an endless struggle between the forces of freedom and those of oppression. Freedom has always been at a disadvantage. It has won many battles but cannot win the war. Trump is the latest manifestation of Bull Connon, but Obama is just another member of the same country club. This is not a Manichean struggle between political parties but between those who care about others and those who use them.
