Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke spoke to the press today during an undeniably dire time for the American economy. During that very speech, the US dollar hit a three year low and gas prices rose yet again. Should Americans be concerned? Absolutely, says Gerald Celente, director at the Trends Research Institute. While Bernake may have taken to the press, Celente says Ben's "jive talk" shouldn't be trusted as he devalues the dollar and distastes the economy.

1. Why do we say 'devalued' dollar...
...when we mean 'export-stimulating' and 'import-discouraging' dollar?

If I were an expat living in Switzerland, or even had a reasonable prospect of visiting Switzerland, yeah, ok, I'd be worried.

But I live in a state which makes paper, wood pulp, and lumber. And it's sufficiently cheap to buy Brazilian pulp, or Finnish paper, or Canadian 2x4's that no one wants to buy pulp from Jay, or paper from Millinocket, or lumber from Sherman Station.

3. Printing money to cover debt devalues the dollar ..... Bush/Obama wars devalue the dollar ...
MIC devalues the dollar -- produces nothing but destruction --

while it increases rw/militaristic corporate power --

Every 1 $ you had pre-Bush is now worth 50 cents -- tops 60 cents --

Good luck to us all!!

Meanwhile, look at the destruction that Global Warming is doing -- will those who

control our natural resources for their own profit pay for the damage from burning

oil/gas/coal?

5. look on the bright side
we can print up 14 trillion and pay off everybody we owe. Except that would still wouldnt solve our problem becauseeeeeee... guess what?

The federal reserve still charges the US govt for the notes they print. So we would still owe someone $14 trillion. Isnt that nice that we have a central bank :sarcasm:
