3. Edwards was so clear about what he learned
And Hillary is so clear that she did NOT learn anything.

22. Hillary learned that she can speak with the two sides of her mouth.
She gets to vote any way she feels will be advantageous for her at that time, and if things don't work out and her vote becomes unpopular she just gets to say "ooooops, my bad I was misled."

It is a win-win for her, so she learned that she gets to have her cake and eat it too. Her convictions are like her own interests, which by the look of things are a work in progress and seem to change on an almost weekly fashion.

Anyhow, I am sick of this lady. I am not looking thrilled by the possibility of having 2 families control the white house for over 2 decades (Bush I, Clinton I, Bush II, Clinton II.....) I am tired of professional charlatans, regardless of party affiliation.

38. I do agree with you on HRC.
Here is what I put into another post concerning what I saw her to say in a debate:
"but I think the point was more about Hilary Republicon Clinton as being not the answer to our country's woes and needs. She is spinning rhetoric so much that if her feet would stop her face would collide with her ass. One point she brought up was that you aren't getting Bill Clinton again and that they don't have the same values and views on things."

Here is the thread I posted it in that gives the portions of the debate in question:

25. right on palladin
I missed the debate, I was at an amusement park! I however, in watching this, feel your statement sums up my thoughts on this man more and more....

VOTE J.E.!

and throw in a little Clark or Biden, or even shock everyone and pick Kucinich, and this guy will coast into the White House.

I'll still vote for any Dem, and kinda like B.O., but H.C. is outta my sights as a liked candidate, but as stated - she'd get my vote if need be because I don't think this country can stand another 4 years of a rethug.

Both Clinton & Obama by their votes or not showing up
showed what they were really made of .... and it is not what
I want to see in a President.

11. That is a distortion. Durbin came back and clarified. Edwards did not get the info he did.
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 10:23 PM by jsamuel
been debunked 10000 times. Edwards didn't see the full NIE and that is what Durbin saw that made him so certain there were no WMD.

that should tell you something. Edwards is absolutely right. Biden and Edwards had great nights last night.

I'm so glad Gravel brought it up and Edwards went back to it ~ the most important moment of the night.

I don't know how ANYBODY, Republican or Democrat, could give Bush a nod toward war like that after all this country has been through!

30. Thanks for posting this. I like the way John Edwards is running his campaign. Steady, strong and
not waivering from his values.

I would really like him to take another look at the single payer approach to health care....then he would be perfect.

32. Already Contributed... Will Do As Much As I Can... Funds Come & Go
these days! Hubby ran up yesterday to get a gallon of milk at a Convenience store and it cost $4.12!! I know has NOTHING to with how well I think Edwards is running his campaign, because I really feel he's being aggressive and not timid to take on many issues, even when they clash with what those in power think!

This is one man who has learned so very much since his time as Senator and especially since his run as VP!

Just heard he was going to take Federal money and NOW I'll sit back and wait for the FIRE to begin! When you want something you go for it and I say....

Go, Johnny, Go!

36. Apparently Edwards made a very strong impression at today's MTV forum. I got a call
from a college aged nephew who watched a replay of it on MTV this evening, and he called to say that Edwards had good ideas.

I thought it was very cool that a college aged kid would bother to pick up the phone to call his 'ole auntie about such a subject.

Very cool indeed. Both my nephew and Edwards!!

37. This is a great statement from Edwards,
and I applaud him for it.

I have had, and still may have, some doubts about the sincerity of the shift he seems to have made since '04.

Still, I think he's handling himself very well.

Openly acknowledging past errors, and taking responsibility for them, is the way to win the votes, and improve the confidence, of those who hold those errors against him.

Think about it. There's only one candidate in the race who has been strongly, clearly, 100% against the war in Iraq from the beginning all the way to the present without break, and only one who was in Congress to cast a vote that did not vote to give GWB that authority. Dennis Kucinich has my vote and support in the primary race; he has by god earned it more than any other candidate on that stage.

In the general election it's unlikely I'll get the chance to cast that vote for him. I've strongly considered the possibility of writing him in rather than voting for a candidate I just can't support. I am not the only Democrat struggling with this issue.

Who am I, and those Democrats of like mind, more likely to cast a vote for? The candidate who acknowledges error and takes responsibility, or a candidate who not only doesn't take responsibility, but repeats the error and can't be trusted not to continue the neocon march to empire once Bush is out of office?

In a similar vein, Edwards did a great job responding to Russert's efforts to trivialize his campaign with haircuts and mansions. I don't have to like expensive haircuts and monolithic palaces, but I can respect someone who stands by the choices they've made about their life, and focuses on the more significant achievements.

DK has my vote in the primary. While I have some disagreements with Edwards, and issues I could criticize him on, I'm also glad to recognize his strengths.
