1. Good for Dave!
And screw you Dr Phil (fake ass Dr)! I spent part of my childhood in the south and heard "good ol' boys" like Phil talk about how they weren't racists but there was a difference between good ni**ers and bad ni**ers. Trump knew exactly what he was insinuating both with the birth certificate garbage and the college transcript crap.

14. I was talking about Dr Phil's
whole spiel on how Donald Trump doesn't have a racist bone in his body and didn't really mean anything racist by what he said when he demanded that the POTUS needs to release his college transcripts. I call bullshit. Dr. Phil sounds like an old white guy from the good ol boys club defending another old white guy who is being a racist. I lived in the south long enough to recognize the behavior (no I'm not saying all white southern men are racists, and I'm not saying racism is confined to the south). Does that explain it clearly enough?

clueless about the whole southern good ol boys wink, nod denial of racism it's up to you, I actually had to live with it as a child (a mixed race child that didn't look mixed so I got to hear what people really thought before they found out I was part black).

19. No, you look
I'm one of those "people" who sound just like Dr. Phil. Same accent, almost fifty years old. If you asked me if someone you and I knew was racist, and I said no, then would you think I was covering for him. That I was a "good ol' boy." You have painted Dr. Phil with the brush that because of his accent, then he's probably part of some good ol' boys' club.

If you and I met, and I said "hello" sounding just like Dr. Phil, do you immediately consider me as a good ol' boy?

20. No I would not.
But if you, like Dr Phil started defending Donald Trump's actions, and saying Trump doesn't have a racist bone in his body then I would think you were giving one of those "good ol boy" wink and nod's to Trump's behavior, because Trump's actions lately are indefensible and racist. I don't judge people by their accents but by their actions and in Dr Phil's case by who and what he is defending.

T-Rumps comments about Obama's bc and not being a good enough student to get into the "ivy league" are so obviously racist that's it's impossible to imagine ANYONE being so ignorant as to not know that. whether T-Rump is racist or not is not clear , but he's a gigantic race bating douchbag to use white fear as a tool for his own self-promotion.. that's even worse than being racist... Dr. Phil's glib and chummy "he doesn't have a racist bone in his body" glosses over the issue..

40. No, I think we're painting Dr Phil as we do because of his previous behavior
As the Doc himself says, the best way to predict future behavior is by looking at their past behavior

Dr Phil is a egotist. Not sure if he's racist, or just clueless to Trump's racism.

It may be the latter - many people will think someone is not racist just because they never use the N word. But not all racists speak in epithets.

28. Ugh, I loathe prejudice, whether it's sexual, racial, religious, or regional. Haters suck.
I'm sorry you got an ear full of hate when you were a kid. That was unfair and the people who said that around you were dispicable for giving a child the hint that she was less than a beautiful being deserving of encouragement and acceptance.

But we shouldn't be fooled into thinking the accents were the critical matter--that's prejudice too. Jim Hightower has the corniest twangiest barbecued East Texas accent you'd ever wanna hear. William F Buckley had the most sophisticated Upper Hudson enlightened Brahmin accent I've ever heard. But which one was the bigot, the redneck or the Yankee?

58. A word of caution
I've encountered that blogger (HolyCity2012) before. My previous experience with him/her leads me to conclude s/he is argumentative and divisive. One more offensive response directed at me, and s/he is the next person on my ignore list.

I appreciate what you said. Having been raised in the deep south, I witnessed first hand the 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' racism of my father and his white friends--cloaked in hypocrisy and dressed up as 'concern' for 'those less fortunate.' Dad was a different man when his 'friends of color' were around. Not until I was older and wiser did I come to understand what I had witnessed.

46. I see this as a little different. Dr. Phil may be a racist apologizer, I dont know, but I
feel that there is a condition called class sociopathy. Yes I know that spell check dont like that, and the wiki thing dont like that, but those in the Ruling Class and their sycophants, believe that the wealthy are inherently right re. all things. They are the privileged and therefore automatically right. Therefore, Trump isnt a racist because he is wealthy. The wealthy get a pass. I think that's what Dr? Phil meant.

7. IMO. he was never in "the race."
He is just after publicity. Really, do you think "the Trump", Wall St.'s answer to wresslin', would really release his financials and follow the requirements of Presidential office seeking?
Also. like so many ventures in his well documented life (which would really work against him),I believe that this fake Presidential run has harmed any vestige of believability that he may have had.
Really, America is heading to a full-blown Idiocracy, led by the people "behind the curtain", hopefully they (WE) are not SO far along that path that a well known (and thrice bankrupt and re-married) clown like Trump, could really be taken seriously, Reality show and all.
Is Kate + eight going to run for Congress next?

36. I have a suspicion (unfounded) that
he is being paid off by the Koch brothers. It seems like he popped on to the scene right at about the same time that they were getting a bunch of media attention (which they hate) and diverted all of the media and public's attention to himself. The timing just seems a little suspicious. The good thing about the Donald is that he is showing off the true, crazy, stinking rotten roots of the GOP which will make moderates run away from them, the bad thing is so much energy is going into discussing him I'm worried about what is going on under the radar.

Dr. Phil showed his true self. "He didn't think it could be SPUN this way" give me a break. There is only one way to take it. I am white and I am not stupid I know when a bigot is a bigot. If you try to explain what trump did you are a bigot also. Sorry it is just that way. I know now Dr. Phil is not the perfect person he pretends to be.

Look I feel it is one way or the other. If you think trump is in anyway correct or is not being racist you are just as guilty. Well I will stand and say I will not just let this go not this time. This time I will not just let it go without voicing my outrage.

I like how as he ages, and especially after his heart bypass, he is developing a don't-give-a-shit attitude with his political opinions, which are obviously more liberal. From his ridiculing of W. I love watching some of these people in the entertainment,sports,media,etc..They always hem and haw about how in certain ways he isn't a racist or some of the other racists.

They seem to be afraid to call it what it is "RACIST " for some reason the media always manages to blame the person or persons who are being hurt, discriminated against, or harmed in someway due to racism,OR maybe they could be racist too. Or maybe it depends on who is where there bread is being buttered...

Unless Dr Phil has had Trump thoroughly analyzed - maybe 10 years of 5 sessions a week type psychotherapy - he is being disingenuous about his diagnosis that Trump "doesn't have a racist bone in his body".
