Tuesday on Countdown, Congresswoman Jane Harmon boldly stated that the Director of National Intelligence Mitch McConnell lied to Congress by claiming that there was an imminent threat against the Capital in order to pass the new FISA Law last month. But just as we've seen so many times before, the truth was far from obvious. In fact it was (deliberately?) buried beneath layer after layer of security and only after digging through these layers did Harmon find that "the informant wasn't considered credible" by the very analysts that McConnel had sited.

If the informant wasn't credible why was McConnell spreading an unsubstantiated rumor around the halls of Congress?

1. I have had serious issues with Harmon

I think that she reflexively places Israel's interests at least as equal to, if not ahead of US interests. However, she is also extremely bright, well educated, exceedingly aware of foreign affairs, and I do believe that she was badly and baldly treated by Speaker Nancy g.o.P.
For her to say this is incredible. It is not that I don't believe her, to the contrary, I find her to be honest as pols go. What is incredible is how Congress have Bush a blow job, then swallowed every last bit of it, passing FISA without adult supervision.

Where is the MSM coverage on this?
