2. Elizabeth rocks and so does her husband. Batten down the hatches.Edwards is going to win!
John and Elizabeth deserve to win because they are "real" people who actually care, not political robots. John and Elizabeth learn from mistakes and alter course, unlike those who can never learn or change.
It is time for reality in the White House. It is time for change. It is time for John Edwards!

20. You know, there's no doubt corporations want Sen. Clinton to win.....
.... and she's campaigning to the corporations and the rich. Edwards isn't. Also, Edwards is not doing a media corporation campaign. He's doing a grass-roots campaign, asking the ordinary people (us) to vote for him.

Sure, the media corporations want us all to believe that Sen. Clinton is already a winner, and that it's a foregone conclusion. The reality is quite different, actually. I talk to people all the time who reflect the complete opposite of what the media is trying to brainwash us to believe, the same way they tried to brainwash us into believing that Bush was doing the right thing by using most of our tax dollars to attack and pillage the Iraqi people, thereby enriching the already-rich, and making war corporations very very wealthy.

Don't believe the media. They need Sen. Clinton because she will continue the Iraq War. We don't need that. We need our tax money to help us, the middle class, the poor, the disabled, seniors, single mothers, and all those others who, since 2000, are suffering much more than they were already suffering.

The reality is, Senator Clinton is not a good candidate. Republicans hope she's chosen. It's their only chance of winning the presidential race again, as she's the weakest link the Dems have got by virtue of being a woman, and by virtue of pandering to the interests of corporations and the rich.

I think grass roots will win. People who are financially strapped are suffering, and they're not stupid. They now know Republicans aren't the ticket, and they want someone who understands that there are indeed two Americas, and that it's got to end.

10. Just a note -- When I turned on MSNBC this morning, I think the question of "exploitation"...
of Elizabeth's illness in this ad was being asked. UVA's Larry Sabato was defending the ad as referencing her illness in a way, but that it was a part of her life, and she was supporting her husband just as Bill supports his wife -- on a pesonal level. He defended this, it seemed, as part of the candidates' being human beings. I thought he did well.

As someone who's had cancer in our immediate family, I really don't understand not giving a pass to those going through this to deal with it in any way they choose. I'll never forget, for example, when Katie Couric interviewed John and Elizabeth in such a confrontative way.

11. Illness or not...Elizabeth speaks the truth...no one holds the card for eternal life.
Who knows when the day comes, when you will not wake up?

How will you live your dash?

You know that little dash between the year you were born and the year you die?

What she says is that taking action sooner, rather than later, benefits the giver as well as the taker.

13. MSNBC seems to keep getting pundits this morning
who are "uncomfortable" with the ad. Geesh.

Yes, the universal message is powerful "Life's Short, Play Hard", and who better understands that, than Elizabeth.

Also, this may come as a shock to a lot of people...we are all going to die :D

17. OMG... I Just Love This Woman!! And She Is So Very Correct...
Just last week I got a call from a cousin that his wife died suddenly of a heart attack. She was in her early 60's and it was a SHOCK! A shock because some do live a very long time, like my mother-in-law who is now 95! My mother died fairly young at 67 of pancreatic cancer within 6 months of diagnosis. So this message hits home to me.

Only problem with my mother-in-law is that she has SEVERE Alzheimer's and has been living with us for over 8 years! It is unfortunate that she can no longer understand or converse with us, I have come to think that it's my husband and I who are supposed to be learning some lesson from having to care for her, even in her condition. I wondered for some time why a "higher being" would prolong her passing when she is basically here in body alone. She's the last of 7 sisters and brothers and was the 2nd oldest. Some with Alzheimer's remember things in the past, but her last brother died earlier this year and she didn't even comprehend that!

My neighbor's nephew just died last year and he was only 39 and my close friend's wife died 10 months ago of cancer at 56. Elizabeth too knows about a lot of tragedy too!! I know there are those here will say some distasteful things about her appeal, but I say "shame on you" because maybe they don't understand what it means to lose those near and dear to you.

I recently donated through ActBlue, so let's do what we can! These people really have "HEART!"

19. THANK YOU... For Your Post! I'm Not Good At This Stuff, I Just
re-act! It's so depressing when all we seem to do is try to knock someone off the block, so when I see Elizabeth with her message I remember there IS goodness even among the chaos!

The sincerity comes through, at least it does for me and should anyone try to say it's something else, I may go ballistic myself! And that's NOT what I'm about!
