But who's going to see it when the MSM ignore it?
And, hearing Paul speak, what does Christianity have to do with the Hippocratic Oath?

5. “Reductio ad absurdum” |

Loosely translated from the Latin “Rand is an ass” You can tell they have no real factual objection when they come up with some extremely ridiculous scenario.

7. I would have confronted him with the "Right" to bear arms |
|
Being Rand was in such a literal mood, I would have argued he was saying the Constitution is forcing me to have a gun. Or they should then force every eligible citizen to vote by force if necessary just because it's in the Bill of Rights. One time I'd like to see a nominee just look at one of these senators and say I'm not buying into your spin and close their mic.

8. Paul's comments were not relevant to the topic. |

The issue is not whether a doctor should be required to provide healthcare to any person who demands his assistance.
The issue is whether we as a society have the obligation to make sure that all of us can find and fairly compensate a doctor when we need one.
Paul was either purposely talking off topic or really is not capable of analyzing issues and problems. I tend to think it was the latter. He responded with a boilerplate slogan about enslavement, an issue that has nothing to do with public health.
No one is suggesting that doctors should be required to treat patients without compensation or that any doctor should be required to treat any patient. That is a silly idea, and I suspect that Rand Paul knows it.
I assume that Rand Paul is licensed to practice medicine under state law. That license is a privilege, not a right. Personally, I think that a state license to practice medicine (or law) should be conditioned on the party who is licensed agreeing to volunteer a certain amount of his professional time to helping others for greatly reduced fees if not pro bono. That would go a long way to relieving the injustice caused by doctors and lawyers earning huge amounts of money while many poor people go without medical care or legal assistance. It is perfectly legal and within the Constitution to require people to perform certain acts in order to enjoy a privilege.
For example, obtaining a drivers license is a privilege, not a right. And a condition for enjoying that privilege, at least in California, is buying car insurance.

14. But doesn't his state require him to be licensed by the state in order to practice? |
|
California does. I think most if not all states do. Doctors have to take examinations every few years in order to retain their licenses.

13. What is telling here is that Bernie Sanders is asking questions, |
|
and is interested to hear what the responder has to say.
Rand Paul just wants to lecture everyone on his own beliefs.
a**hat.
