Moment of Change: The Power is with YOU |
|
Power to the people! And because John Edwards has decided to be elected president with no strings attached by taking public financing, your power is DOUBLED when you contribute up to $250 to his campaign.

This is the heart of his One Corps groups. People can bring about change, and they can begin today. Good message for all of us to believe in.

4. I am starting to feel that a new day's a-dawnin'! |
|
I feel that John Edwards is pushing that orb of hope up from behind the horizon where it's languishing due to the apathy borne of indifference, for way too long now. Now that those of us (those of REAL compassion - not just buzzword compassion) who've questioned the supposed wizdumb of our leaders have been repeatedly slapped in the face with the reality of things - we're finally starting to comprehend the peril we stand at the brink of. The lately trampled document that was so beautifully crafted to insure us our freedoms, we now realize the true worth of. And at least in my case, I confess that I had to be confronted with the possibilities of said document's dismissal before I took serious it's defense! Edwards, Kucinich, Richardson, Kerry, Gravel and others have reminded us (me anyway) that WE can (and DO) have a say in DC. We'd given up hope that our reps could be swayed by anything but special interest's greasings. But thanks to this real-time medium we call the Internet, we have the power of INSTANT input and influence as to how things develop. As we're seeing with the GOP meltdown at the moment - woe be to those that choose to ignore this new and active player. And I'm just SO DAMNED PROUD to be one of the team! :woohoo:

5. I can't tell you how happy I am that he has opted in for |

public campaign financing. This is the only way to ensure that our government is independent and responds to all of us and not just wealthy people.
When Edwards came to L.A. he held an event and it only cost $15.00 to attend. That was in the very wealthy west side of L.A. People came from far and near to attend that event. Most of us cannot afford the $200.00 dinners and the like. Edwards is thinking of us. I really appreciate that. I want to see a day when candidates opt for public financing as a matter of course because they can't win if they take money from special interests.

8. I want to see that day too. |

I want people to start paying enough attention to the money side of politics that they realize that candidates don't raise $30 million a quarter without having some unsavory debts to pay and strings attached.
