1. Teaching for a day

It would be nice to see all of the candidates answering student questions even though it becomes something of a farce as to the reality of teaching. Kids have an innate desire to understand the world around them and formal education is only part of the way they get it but too many have no idea of the dynamics involved. Each child, each classroom, each teacher, each school, and each community is a unique entity. Formal education is about building a foundation of the ability to learn and cannot be the goal in itself. What is not addressed is how to respond to and to enhance all of these unique entities so that the whole country benefits. NCLB can't do that because it is a one size fits all program with no room to respond singularly to each group involved.
I like Edwards more and more because of the things he attempts to address.
