WARNING: THIS REPORT CONTAINS SOME DISTURBING IMAGES

Lindsey Hilsum has been to Panyang in Sudan where people have been telling her shocking stories of being bombed by their own government.

This story aired on the July 6, 2011 edition of Channel 4 News in the UK; via Independent Television News, a version was on PBS NewsHour in the US the same day. Checking against PBS' transcript, I found that PBS cut about 8 seconds of footage at 1:15 at this video where Hilsum reported: "President Omar al-Bashir is punishing the Nuba people for refusing to accept his government," as well as the last 20 seconds of the Channel 4 version where Hilsum called this conflict "the new Darfur." And Jon Snow's introduction on C4 was more detailed than Jeffrey Brown's on PBS, and C4 actually included Sudanese provincial lines in its map. ()
