1. Damn if I would vote to convict them if I was on a jury. Save time - skip to minute 10

8. We are "them."
If you are tired of the corruption and all of the "pretzel logic" that our world governments seem to follow.

IMO, especially the U.S. as of the last 50 years, and want to stop it through peaceful disobedience, then you are anonymous. That is the great advantage it has over governments etc...

The movie "V for Victory" is obviously where many of the ideas were congealed.

IF it is legitimate, then we can do so much good.

"V" is also for vigilance. IMO, we have to ensure that we do not replace one form of bad government for another...

3. Cool. But being the most incredible cynic, I have to ask: Are we sure that
Edited on Sat Jul-09-11 09:03 AM by 1monster
Anonymous isn't just another FBI or such toy put in place to catch those who would actively use passive resistance so they know who to watch and to keep said activists busy with something that, so far, has caused mostly minor inconvenience?

ON EDIT: Nice use of music

4. They did a nice job of HB Gary though
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that was more than the government would have done if they are setting people up.

7. And the impact of that is vast. At least three incredible stories came from that.
1. the existence of anti-social software (that lets one person manage several sockpuppet accounts on various social networks)

2. BofA's plot to illegally intimidate journalists friendly to wikileaks and anonymous

3. ?

4. Profit

18. I am not sure I know how to interpret your message - do you feel that anything
that involves the Bilderberg empire is conspiratorial? Did I misunderstand?

6. Great post! Worth watching entirely.
my reaction to the comments: 1. I've known more than a few brilliant and successful people who are capable of and possess the world-view of anonymous 2. suspicion is healthy but also shows how paranoid we are 3. it under-scores the personal bubble we, in America, put ourselves in, more so than even we can imagine ourselves to be 4. as such, 1984 is coming if we don't watch out and have some faith in Something to stop it

9. What I find funny;
Is that a lot of the people who might have a problem with Anonymous have 'bots' within their computer system.

Think of how many System Engineers within large corporations are sympathetic to the cause and initiate procedures that gives control of these systems to people who have the means to run DOS attacks.

What next? Forced signatures on documents pledging allegiance to the Fatherland (Is the US a Fatherland or Motherland) and to the Corporations and Armed Forces that keep me safe from all my fears.

Tail Gunner Joe lives!

16. @greiner3
Incidentally I recall that one of the 2012 presidential candidates were proposing that if they win that an oath of loyalty must be taken for any government job.

I don't recall which specific one so it may have been a rumor but still...

It is unsettling.

10. One potential weakness of Anonymous
Stems from, ironically, the same place from which it draws much of its strength: Anyone can claim membership. There is no way to screen people or verify a person's credentials or political ties. The problem is that some disingenuous RW hack can potentially come along and do something destructive under the guise of "helping the cause" and potentially deliberatey smear the group's reputation.

Of course, this is true of many activist groups, but anonymous is particularly vulnerable to, at least, an initial attack.

However, the group is also well-equipped to launch a loud and corrective counterattack, drowning out or nullifying the initial deception.

12. This is the first time I put it all together.
I had seen all the pieces but did not actually realize it was an organized attempt to revolt against the establishment...and by the young!
The understanding of what they want to do made me want to stand up and cheer because I have always felt that only a completely non violent revolution that took Gandhi's non cooperation with evil to heart...ane these people seem to understand that.

I want to believe but I also remember O'Brien in 1984 and know that we can be stung along just to keep us busy.
Let's hope this time it's real and works.

13. That's hilarious. At about 2:30 it discusses
Cyber security firm, HB Gary which claimed that it had uncovered and would publish the names of Anonymous members. HB Gary was promptly hacked, the site was taken down, and a slew of their emails was published on the net. CEO forced to resign! Fools.

15. Anonymous
In the 60s we marched and were arrested and beaten and some
change took place. So Anonymous I salute you and will pray for
your success. You feel as if you are our only hope and tool to
bring about some change. As Bill Maher put it, part of use are
guilty of murder and the others are asleep at the wheel and
will only wake when we are put in poor houses or chains. The
taskmasters have taken over the plantation and we are doomed
without your help.
GOD BLESS AND SCIENCE PREVAIL !!!!!!!!!
