2. to the best of my knowledge

all CFL's available in the US are made in China (why?). Then there is the disposal issue and they do not last as long as advertised. A better solution may be dimmers on all light switches and promote USA made high efficiency bulbs such as LED.

throw them away very often since they last so long...

i have one going right beside me that stays on more than 12 hours a day average and has been there for atleast 9 months without replacement...

its terrible they are filled with such nasty chemicals , but im assuming this is an issue that can be resolved?

some people dont care much for the light that LEDs give, it annoys or hurts some peoples vision. not me, but ive heard people complain about signs and headlights.
