3. Is President Obama suggesting that the vehicle for distributing the
SS payments may not be available?

In other words the money in SS is there, but the funding for the fulfillment may not be?

25. Right on Frank!
Yet the FACTS of SS ... AND the facts of how it's the military spending that has us in deep doo-doo ... THOSE facts are NEVER (or RARELY ever) mentioned by anyone with a camera or a mic in their face. WTF (and that's not Winning The Future!)????

34. People have paid taxes for ss.
It's not an entitlement. People paid taxes in all their years for this.

Could we persuade Kucinich to suffer through a challenge to Obama? Somebody has got to do it.

With a little coaching on his demeanor and delivery of speeches (which Obama may have had early on), Kucinich would go over. His ideas are great. He is brilliant. And he has proved that he is honest and courageous.

His demeanor and delivery are fine -- except he needs a coach to mirror him a bit and give him confidence.

Professional singers and others have directors and coaches. Some people are naturally very self-confident. But some aren't. The problem is that we can't hear or see ourselves as we speak or present ourselves. (This is especially true of classical singers.) And expression that is sincere, heartfelt and actually quite strong may appear weak to a listener/viewer simply because the speaker is not confident. Having a confident voice can be learned.

Kucinich is such a great guy and would make a wonderful president. Anybody out there who could be a coach. His speeches are great. He just needs someone to give him more confidence, to make him smoother somehow.

14. obama did not help himself
by scaring old people on this. If SS has a trust fund, why did he even bring this up?

What a stupid move.

18. A year from now, all anyone will remember is that Obama threatened seniors.
I really think he can be as lacking in empathy as anyone on the right.

Because Obama was the one shown on the news who threatened to hold back on sending their checks.

I still am trying to understand why obama said that if not for cheap political points?

24. You're right (and thanks, Dennis)
I think he was talking to the tea party people, not understanding that none of them watch or listen to him on TV. They wait to hear what RW media tells them he said. So laying panic and doom on families to underscore Republican obstruction was, indeed, self-destructive. I hope this cold word-salad stuff stops pretty soon. I was considering tasting the dog food and so on.

29. this is NOT a political game.. it is a Religious Dogma,

the GOP believes that wealth/power is proof of gods favor of a man so it is a sin to tax them,

and the poor are being punished by god so it is a sin to help them or not torment them.

this crap is a product of Doug Coes "the Family, AKA: the Christian Mafia, they call themselves that. their organization was started by a Nazi, Abraham Vereide in 1934.. Vereide started the popular Prayer Breakfasts that Politicians are always going to.. Doug Coe, who picked up Vereide's torch/cross personally draws up the guest list and chooses who speaks. Coe and 'Family' members call themselves the Christian Mafia. their organization is constructed of secret prayer cells. they have taken over the leadership of the GOP and the Evangelical movement.. they have merged with the Straussian NeoCons.

richest 1% holds 42% of Americas Financial Wealth, top 5% holds 72%, bottom 80% holds only 7%

they have taken over the GOP leadership, and some prominent Democrats, Hillery has been his diciple since 1994.
