This week Max Keiser and co-host, Stacy Herbert, look at how propaganda shapes political and economic outcomes in our economies.

They report on Americans collecting government social welfare benefits without knowing it and U.S. Congressman taking financial bets against its government debt.

And, finally, Max and Stacy suggest that if British teenagers are being extradited to America on copyright infringement, then George Michael ought to have a case against Rupert Murdoch under the Digital Millenium Copyright Act as well.

6. Eric Cantor is committing treason
i've been saying this for over a week now (since I first heard about his investment in the 'America Fails" hedge fund) and I'm glad to hear someone in the media saying it now too.

2. Why are these IMF thugs not being stopped from destroying the
American economy? And why does anyone believe that the debt caused by these thugs should be paid by the poor and middle class?

4. Great!!! As always, lots of interesting insights.
Max Keiser's videos are always so chock full of good stuff that it is hard to decide what to comment on.

One note though: Some American college students get a little "free" aid or grants from government sources, but most of the "aid" is in the form of loans that cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. So, while higher education is available to a large percentage of Americans, it is very, very expensive -- possibly around $40,000 per year in some schools -- and must be paid by the student or the student's family. So, most American college graduates are sort of indentured servants who have to find their master for themselves.

Michelle Bachmann is a perfect example of an individual who rails against government spending but receives income from the government. Obviously, as a Representative in Congress, her salary is paid by the taxpayers. But in addition I have heard that her husband has received about $170,000 in government payments for his psychological services to turn gay men straight and I think I read that the Bachmann family received a farm subsidy payment. Those are just some obvious government payments to her.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) — so fond of accusing the Obama administration of foisting socialism on an unwilling America — has apparently been the recipient of about a quarter of million bucks in government handouts.

Liberal site Truthdig links to an Environmental Working Group analysis of federal agricultural subsidies and found that the Bachmann family farm, managed by her father-in-law until his recent death, received $251,000 in farm payments between 1995 and 2006.

Bachmann’s financial disclosure forms indicate her stake in the Wisconsin farm is worth up to $250,000. Her income from the farm has grown from $2,000 a year a few years back to as much as $50,000 for 2008.

While Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., has forcefully denounced the Medicaid program for swelling the "welfare rolls," the mental health clinic run by her husband has been collecting annual Medicaid payments totaling over $137,000 for the treatment of patients since 2005, according to new figures obtained by NBC News.

The previously unreported payments are on top of the $24,000 in federal and state funds that Bachmann & Associates, the clinic founded by Marcus Bachmann, a clinical therapist, received in recent years under a state grant to train its employees, state records show. The figures were provided to NBC News in response to a Freedom of Information request.

The clinic, based in Lake Elmo, Minn., describes itself on its website as offering "quality Christian counseling" for a large number of mental health problems ranging from "anger management" to addictions and eating disorders
