Neal Asbury, Conservative Talk Show Host joins Thom Hartmann for a debate. The core issue behind this ongoing debate between Democrats and Republicans in Washington boils down to just one thing: INEQUALITY.

1. Thom has run businesses. He knows the psychology of a businessman as they relate to tax rates.
And he gave examples in his talking points.

That numb nut Asbury could do nothing but spit out RW cliches that have been proven false or didn't even pertain to the topic of discussion. I loved it when he just spewed out "cap and trade" when rambling off a bunch of those cliches and Thom called him out that we don't have cap and trade.

Recent economic performances are showing that supply side/free trade has been concentrating the wealth in this country to historic proportions. That is not good if you're serious about reviving this economy.

2. Greed
I think all one has to do, is look at how much CEOs are paying themselves these days (i.e. several 100 times more than the common employee). Today, it's all about having the most money, and looking out for number one.

3. There is a great passage in "The Grapes of Wrath" which concludes that FEAR is the reason

the rich keep adding more stuff to their huge piles of stuff.

Sane people know that love---love of others and love (and acceptance) of oneself is the cure for fear. The film "There Will Be Blood" also explores this topic. The protagonist uses his wealth to control those he (thinks he) loves, out of fear of being rejected and lonely. Since he does not accept himself, he can not really ever love others, as the fight at the end of the movie demonstrates.

4. Talking to one of these right wing parrots is like talking to a wall with a tape player in it
They don't hear a word you say, yet they keep spouting the same ridiculous bullshit.

THE SKY IS GREEN! THE SKY IS GREEN!

5. K&R for Thom trying to get some truth into the discussion.
And another right winger rolling out the standard talking points. Totally ignoring the fact that the rich were quite comfortable before Reagan pushed the US away from Demand Side Economics to "Supply Side" economics.
