their own coverage, declared that they were the only one covering those things, (lies) and then indicated that they were "fair and balanced" once again for replaying the video clips and having birther guests on up until and including the Donald on the birther bullshit, (Donald, himself, making up MORE lies about his "investigation" in Hawaii).

the events and revelations of the past few weeks were long ago and far away.

That's the clear message those two tried to convey to their viewers.

"ten years ago"...a solid lie, since all the events happened all within the last 10 years, even such a short time ago as last year. Far away, both American and UK citizens and others are targets of the phone hacking, and these invasions of privacy were committed by workers employed by the same corporation as the douche guy, himself, hardly that "far away" from him.
