more fox bs!

Fox News' Eric Bolling delivered an angry, emotional response to the attention he received for mistakenly saying there had been no domestic terror attacks during President Bush's term.

Since the statement--which Bolling made on Wednesday's episode of "The Five"--omitted 9/11, Bolling drew some ridicule. On Thursday's episode, he addressed his critics directly, with his voice shaking. Bolling said that "obviously" he had meant that there were no domestic terror attacks in the aftermath of 9/11, but that the "radical liberal left pounced on us and me" instead of letting the statement go.

He then assured people that he remembered 9/11 all too well.

"I happened to be standing there watching in true terror as radical Islamists slammed planes into the towers that morning," Bolling said. "I remember the towers collapsing, killing 3,000, including 16 of my closest friends, and I really remember trying to comfort the kids of my friends at their memorial services. I'll never forget 9/11, but thank you liberals for reminding me how petty you can be."

No domestic terrorist attacks since Obama took office (except for those perpertrated by the Tea party and anti-abortion extremists), Republicans. Make sure you thank the man in charge for that.

6. His response should have included an acknowlegment that his point was invalid
He used that statement to make a point. Now that he acknowledges that his fact was incorrect, where's the acknowledgment that his point was also invalid?

Liberals aren't being petty by pointing out his error. They are pointing out that his conclusions are false because he was basing them on incorrect facts.

12. He lost 16 close friends on 9-11? That must be a record

Unless someone worked on one of those floors where people were trapped I doubt there are very many people in New York that knew 16 people who died on that day much less they were all close friends. This needs to be checked into because he is either lying or exaggerating on an epic level.

33. He was a commodities trader and executive...
...so actually it's not unreasonable that he knew 16 people who died in the WTC.

Where I would quibble is the "friends" part. Has he had 16 friends in his entire life?

17. It's petty to correct someone?
Even if he had meant "in the aftermath", which I highly doubt, he didn't say it and therefore his statement was inaccurate. There's nothing "petty" about pointing out an inaccuracy.

Terror attack that still goes on today in Iraq.

Edit...How many American service men and women have died in harms way, in a war that never had to be in Iraq? How many Americans have watched and are still watching their friends blown away in Bush's war of choice? How many Iraqi men women and children have watched their friends and family blown away or tortured, maimed, or born so deformed that they can't survive because of the use of depleted uranium munitions? Where are the WMD?

It's crystal clear they don't really give a f about their actual and future well being.

All they care about is that they gobble their batshit crazy propaganda of lies and history distortion.

30. So.... let's see...
I could make the statement on a news channel. "There were 50 major terrorist attacks under Bush's watch"

And when Fox News pointed out I was mistaken, I could just throw a tantrum and call them petty.... and everything would be fine.

Got it.

This is a guy who thinks all liberals are radicals. That Obama is a radical. That anyone to the left of John McCain is radical.

Which is, of course, the language of a radical.

40. That was my take on him as well
Just repeat a word over and over again until it takes hold in weak minds. I still find it ridiculous that in this day and age, right-wingers have dragged out the old Commie/Marxist crap. What they lack in originality, they make up for in dogged persistence.

47. It doesn't surprise me. It's what they did to Bill Clinton.
In 1992 Bill Clinton was the least liberal of the entire field of Democratic contenders. He was the "pro-business" (read as "Reaganomic") governor of a "right-to-work" (read as "anti-union") state who was know to have womanizing issues. The last was potentially sensitive since in just the previous cycle (1988) Gary Hart's candidacy went down in flames over an affair scandal.

But he had the biggest funding war-chest and the election press corps liked him: he was a yuppie just like them. So he was "anointed" (they used that word) as the frontrunner before any votes were cast.

For the Republicans, the dilemma was that they couldn't attack Clinton using the same old "bash them as slaves to 'special interests'" playbook, because he wasn't. He'd make deliberate snubs to groups (e.g., the "Sista Souljah Moment") to make a show of not being beholden to them. And they could never quite get a "bimbo explosion" going hot enough to take him out, because Hillary defused some of the fireworks on that front.

So what did the Republican's do? They played the "I reject your reality and substitute my own" card, and ran against draft-dogin' dope-smokin' ultra-leftist Hippie Bill. If they couldn't attack him on real issues, they'd invent some. (A strategy which ironically shored up Clinton's support among liberals, on the mistaken belief that "he's one of us".)

With the national media already beaten into submission to prove by Reagan and Poppy Bush, and feeling the need to prove they didn't have "liberal media bias", the Republicans could claim anything they wanted and the stenographers simply repeated it.
