July 14th on Woody's Birthday Arlo and I went to Madison WI. He did a benefit concert at The Barrymore Theater that night to a very excited audience! The next day, we took to the streets and ended up at the Capitol to the "Solidarity Sing-along"

Pete Seeger once told me that it doesn't matter who your President, Senators and congress folks are. If people organize themselves all across this country, and take care of each other, with love, they will be unstoppable!

This rally at the Capitol in Madison, WI started with 300,000 people and every day since then, they have continued to rally!

Arlo and I were so happy to be there.

1. Arlo's cool. He gave a concert at a venue where my husband did lights on an as-needed

basis and I did costuming for two different plays in the spring (I was working on cleaning, repairing, and packing up the costumes for both plays at the time. Since one play had about thirty actors and the other had seventy-two, I put a lot of time at that amphither.)

After the concert, I took my four-year old son (who just happened to have my old LP Arlo Guthrie album with him) backstage to my car -- much to the dismay of a volunteer worker for the concert who didn't think I should be allowed backstage despite the fact that my car was parked there. As we walked down "Indian Hill," I saw Arlo walking around and sent my son over with the album. Arlo was very sweet to my little one and signed the cover. Arlo's hair was still dark, then.

Many years later, about two summers ago, I saw him and his family at a festival. His hair was snow white, but he was still the same guy who put on a great show. His family in the act now, was great too.
