According to the article: "...many of the applicants had jobs, but barely earn minimum wage." That's not surprising considering Texas is currently tied with Mississippi for the highest percentage of minimum wage workers in the country. Remember, Republicans use Rick Perry's job creation in Texas as an example of the "success" of low taxes and little or no regulations. Now let me ask you something, did you see any signs of success or growth in that video?

What are DUers doing to stop the demolition of HUD housing, and increase subsidized housing to meet the need????

4. You're absolutely correct.

I'm merely pointing out that Texas is not doing as well as Republicans say it is. I haven't heard any Democrats say that Texas is doing great under Perry, but I sure have heard a lot of Republicans say that. You do have a point though, neither side has done nearly enough to provide housing for the poor.

But it is/was the RW who 1st started attacking these EVIL socialists programs. Dems use to stand up for the middle/poor class, but now most of our corporate owned Govt. goes along with the RW montra. Tax breaks/credits for the very rich, cut evil socialists programs. They (bothsides) are now coming after, Medicare. Medicaid and SS.
