The CIA's Secret Sites in Somalia
http://www.thenation.com/article/161936/cias-secret-sites-somalia

"...As part of its expanding counterterrorism program in Somalia, the CIA also uses a secret prison buried in the basement of Somalia’s National Security Agency (NSA) headquarters, where prisoners suspected of being Shabab members or of having links to the group are held. Some of the prisoners have been snatched off the streets of Kenya and rendered by plane to Mogadishu. While the underground prison is officially run by the Somali NSA, US intelligence personnel pay the salaries of intelligence agents and also directly interrogate prisoners. The existence of both facilities and the CIA role was uncovered by The Nation during an extensive on-the-ground investigation in Mogadishu. Among the sources who provided information for this story are senior Somali intelligence officials; senior members of Somalia’s Transitional Federal Government (TFG); former prisoners held at the underground prison; and several well-connected Somali analysts and militia leaders, some of whom have worked with US agents, including those from the CIA. A US official, who confirmed the existence of both sites, told The Nation, “It makes complete sense to have a strong counterterrorism partnership” with the Somali government..."

1. Anyone who uses the (non)word, irregardless...
should have their credentials as a journalist stripped! I'm talking to (and about) you, Nicole Wallace. Why would Jeremy Scahill agree to go on the air with that panel of RW hacks?

6. in that "Irregardless" is not a word,.
it is the conflation of two words with similar meanings,. regardless and irrespective. If regardless means "Without paying attention to the present situation; despite the prevailing circumstances" does adding the "ir" prefix negate or invert that meaning? Anyway, the "ir" is redundant and unneeded. The word people are ignorantly attempting to use is regardless, no ir about it.

12. Thanks, you explained it much better than I would have.
I try not to be the spelling and grammar police, but some thing just get such a rise out of me that I have a hard time not saying something. Someone who is supposed to be a professional journalist butchering the English language is one of those things!

7. if it is OK for this treatment of our enemies then,.
the same will eventually come home to roost., at some point domestic suspected terrorist may be you or someone you know,. since evidence, charges and due process are not longer required to hold people for 10 years and more,. anyone recall a little place called gittmo ?? Thought that was to close in 100 days or some other horse shit.., The Obama regime has proven that democracy in america has long been dead. Say what ever you want in the election, no one will,. or even can hold you to account for lies or broken promises. So how will the will of the people take expression now ?? Something new is coming.,

8. Most of the panelists act shocked that Scahill's story is not getting attention from the MSM.

Puhhhhhhleeeeeze!!!

And for Nicole Wallace to state that similar activities that went on under Bush received front page coverage, I'd like to know what rock she crawled out from under. The reason we're in Iraq to the extent we are is because the MSM played along with Bush and Cheney's charade about Saddam Hussein and Iraq having WMDs without verification and performing even a hint of journalism. Then you see crap like David Gregory goofing around and dancing with Karl Rove at a WH Press Banquet and you understand why.

The MSM has been spending all of its energy diverting attention away from this and other activities Scahill referred to for years by telling us all about the celebrity non-stories, making the teabaggers, Palin, Bachmann and others into legitimate grass roots figureheads, which they are not, and by ignoring the Koch Bros. and their tentacles in all facets of our state and federal governments.
