Helping families control their family planning leads to smaller family sizes, which is a critical component of upward mobility. You're not going anywhere if you start out in poverty, and you then have 6 kids.

I would love to eradicate the poor as a category. Slide them on up into a decent standard of living. That counts as 'eradication' right, prosperity for all? Oh? Not what Fox News meant that spin as? Oh...

I've been on birth control for over 20 years now -- not to stop pregnancies but for the convenience of regulating my periods. And I'm on it now simply to get through peri-menopause (without the pills, my periods are off-the-charts heavy). Birth control has more uses than simply family planning. And I think it SHOULD be made available to all women. If up to me, it would be sold over the counter.
