Views on DU: 5128 | Summary: Cenk Uygur discusses the debt ceiling proposals with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Senator Sanders is incredulous that president Obama is offering up programs like Social Security and Medicare before the GOP even asked for cuts to those programs. Also, why will the rich and corporations get even more tax cuts?PS--- Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x7o0sNrulg|Cenk Leaves MSNBC (Full Segment: Griffin, Fox, Maddow & More)>.

2. NO damned need to be touching the very programs that are barely keeping people alive as it is! It is |
|
DISGUSTING to give the GOP, as the Senator said, 80-90% of what they wanted just to get them to vote on the debt ceiling increase - which has ZILCH to do with Social Security, and frankly, we have payroll taxes taken right out of our checks for it and Medicare. To allow the tying of these programs to the "DEBT" talk is shameful - Democrats don't allow that action! Well, they haven't before.
This is a radical cut in Social Security, after Pres. Obama gave the tax breaks for 2 more years to the rich, which is causing the debt, and, And, AND, ANDDDDD Obama scolded McCain saying that he (Obama) wouldn't cut SS benefits like McCain would.
This is betrayal if this goes through as he's offering to the GOP. Betrayal!

|
In fact..On many issues Obama has proven himself to be more of a corporate puppet than Bush was.

17. What happened to the 'signing statements' Bush used lavishly? |
|
Why isn't this a regular ploy for this administration on, say, the big 3 and taxes lowered for the richest?

27. We all need to work on it -- there is a lot we have to know -- but we also have to look at 2012 ...! |
|
We need to encourage other candidates to step up to challenge Obama and his
corporate presidency --
Until we begin to do something positive with our anger, it will only be creating more
stress for us --

31. Howard Dean and Elizabeth Warren. They are both smart, and |
|
both concerned about people. I am no longer certain Obama is either of those things.

32. Elizabeth Warren -- great -- |
|
A little concerned about Howard Dean -- he's too supportive of the party --
and someone mentioned the other day that he was traveling with Koch Bros DLC
Rahm Emmanuel on those trips to recruit conservative Dems --
Think we have to leave Dean on the sidelines --

Bernie Sanders, imo. Someone the younger voters can identify with.
