2. wait..did boner tan just say "the crisis atmosphere that the PRESIDENT CREATED" ???
this is the biggest cliche ridden pant load of crap i've ever heard from a pol.. full of pure lies, misdirection, misinformation, and not taking ANY responsibility for taking the nation hostage and creating this debt ceiling "crisis" bull.. Clearly, as usual, this is JUST politics for the Repukes, and they have no interest in negotiating in good faith, or compromise, but using the muscle of the corporate sector and media to push their small (ie ineffective, unregulated) gov't crap.. sick of hearing these corporate toads croak.. Let's get some work done.. I agree w the Pres. tonight and applaud him for taking the bully pulpit to the people. He was clearly frustrated and negotiated for a compromise in good faith, went way beyond what the dems in congress wanted, but this negotiation was predictably mis-characterized as not enough by the greedy take it or leave it Pubic-cans. We need to better educate people so they don't fall for this crap and take down news corp, and eliminate corp personhood, and have publically funded elections with a ban on tv election ads like in Britain, if we are going to solve anything in this country. FU Bonerater.

6. Yep...Boner is an obvious lying tool...and, as usual, will get everything he/they want...
...Obama is still endorsing Reid's bill with cuts to SS and Medicare and eliminating major tax deductions for the middle class...AND BIG tax cuts for the rich and corporations...which Obama had to immediately give into...he absolutely had to...there was/is just no other F__KING way, right?

He (Obama) couldn't possibly have insisted on a one-sentence bill to simply vote yes or no on the debt ceiling alone, right? Not like the one that all of the Repuke assholes voted to approve in 2006 on a 7 Trillion deficit!

No one is that bad of a negotiator...it's simply not plausible that Obama is that F__KING stupid. The only possible reality is that he is simply owned by Wall Street and playacting in order to shove this shit down the middle class and working poor's throats.

Seriously, Dubya himself couldn't pass Reid's F__KING bill through Congress!!!

7. uh.. there is pretty clear signals that the US credit rating will be downgraded
if the deal is not substantial enough.. that could be a disaster 4 consumer credit and the economy.. there is more at play here that simply raising the debt ceiling to avoid a financial and economic turmoil. That's why he continues to negotiate for a big deal.. do agree he should insist on more revenues, but what are you going to do with a childish ignorant mob of tea partiers who are determined to cut govt at any cost and a republican caucus that is determined to see Obama fail... reality. Call your House Representitive if you want to do something constructive.

9. Yeah...I've called...and I'm holding my breath...
...and I'm aware of the impending US credit rating problem.

My point is that there is no need for more to be at play and/or a negotiation for a big deal. If Obama was actually acting in the best interest of 99% of Americans (not to mention his base...and his campaign platform), he would have insisted on a one-sentence bill to simply vote yes or no on the debt ceiling alone.

It's absolutely F__KING incredulous to insist that we have to combine debt reduction negotiations with the raising of the debt ceiling...the two have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH each other.

10. ...then maybe the Obama administration could stick to a simple talking point...
Edited on Tue Jul-26-11 02:47 PM by alllyingwhores
...that passing the simple one-sentence debt ceiling approval bill "IS SIMPLY PAYING THE BILL FOR MONEY ALREADY SPENT (by the Repukes) AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DEBT REDUCTION."

But again, that's only if Obama was acting in the interest of 99% of Americans and not the richest 1%.

3. Guys please listen to what the message -
the real message the Republicans have been able to get through to everyone,
and NO ONE has ever, ever questioned is

"that congress is a business, government is a business,
and it should be run like one "

This means that basically we should run the government like a business - so in otherwords lets put the corporations in control.

I don't think people quite understand just how incredibly dangerous this concept is.

4. I don't think people quite understand just how incredibly dangerous this concept is.
It is a concept the Italians came up with in the 1930's.

They called it Fascism.

8. ANY one who has been paying attention since 2001 knows
that the Republican corporatist agenda has been exactly that.
