Sometimes I just don't understand why there is always a financially
struggling college kid, a low wage worker, or a middle class American
that feel as though they have to go out of their way to defend tax
breaks for the rich. At least once a month I find one person that wants
to argue against their own interest and it continues to baffle me.

4. This was very well done. IMO one of the reasons is we now have
several generations of Americans that have been brainwashed into the system. They actually believe all of the bullshit.

5. The right wing and their corporate sponsors
Have put together a coalition of religious zealots, gun nuts and bigots of various types, and have convinced them that the repub party is the only salvation for this country. Once on board they follow the party line which is set by the wealthy who set the party agenda. The sheep follow the lead depite the fact that the repub party has nothing to offer them in their own interest. We all know individuals- teachers, union members, minorities and others - who have no business supporting the repub agenda. It's the God, guns and gays agenda at work. They prey on the fear and ignorance of many.

7. I think some of them actually believe the idea that
taxing the rich will stop corporations from creating jobs. I hear that from a lot of my conservative acquaintances. And a lot of the really small business owners I know are struggling to survive, so they blame labor laws and taxes because that's what they hear, that's what they've been led to believe is the problem. They really don't hear much but conservative economic ideas or intentionally distorted versions of liberal ideas in our corrupt media.

11. I believe you are correct.
The whole thing comes down to a massive misinformation campaign by the right wing.

9. I think they understand unconsciously...
... that if we mount any sort of effective attack on the rich, that the rich will retaliate brutally, and the lives of the poor will become substantially worse than they are now - NO financial assistance of any sort, NO tolerance by the police or military, NO access to resources, including food, water, shelter, and medical care.

14. The poor would rather preserve the fantasy that they someday
might become wealthy rather than look at the reality of their existing conditions.

The wealthy pay one half of the world's poor to fight the other half in order to preserve their positions ....Gangs of New York
