8. I liked what he said about Obama
adopting a stupid Republican idea -the payroll holiday. Unless it is Obama's objective to destroy social security I cannot see one reason for it.

5. Smart guy!
I like how he makes the point that the rich don't care about our failing infrastructure, since they've got their private jets/helos (i.e. to bypass our pot-hole-ridden roads, deteriorating bridges, etc) and gated mansions.

He'd be a good candidate for Pres!

PS I always think of the Laverne and Shirley show when I hear his last name, lol.

6. How can a reasonable person argue with this plan?
Yet, Washington can't get over their next election, or so it seems. What else explains this stupidity by repubs? What is with Obama acting like he thinks cutting benefits for the neediest, old and young, will work out in the long run? I am old and I am having to help a college student who already gets Pell Grants and I appreciate all the help she can get through govt. loans. By the way, they are not cheap.

14. President Obama is acting like a Republican and I believe he is
Now...As much as I thought President Bush was nothing more than a puppet for the corporate mafia I would put Obama in that same group..He has caved to the corporate mafia believing their funding will bring reelection. At least G W was smart enough to know during his first term he knew better than to mess with the Seniors SS or Medicare. Granted he did push for medicare premium increase and got it..now of course he wanted to privatize the funds etc etc but when it came right down to the facts he backed off otherwise he could not have gotten the Seniors vote in 2004..Even though the 2004 election was stolen by his corporate gangsters he on many issues was not as far right as what Obama has been..And we are suppose to support him as a Democrat...no way

15. Don't get me wrong, I will vote again for Obama
But what little I understand of his position on reducing social benefits is not the disaster as having a repub. president that will totally destroy our rights as citizens due to the loading up of the supreme court with Even More rightwingers to the court. That is one of many serious issues I have with any repub. I am a yellow dog dem!! But all of us have paid into the SS, etc., it's not like the perks the oil co. get and hedge funds, etc.. Obama needs to drop the 14th Amendment on the crowd come Aug. 2nd if the rep. don't get the picture of what most Americans want as per pollings.

7. It has become obvious that the Republicans with the help of
the Tea Partiers want to do away with government social programs and put this all into private corporation's hands. Of course, this has been the GOP ambition for many many years, ever since FDR came forth with successful social programs to help US citizens. Now Big Business wants to get in on the piece of the pie, anything that might make a profit.
DeFazio is a politician from the old Democratic school that for the welfare of the US and it's citizens the government should take the lead in providing economic security for all. The depression of the 30s proved that private industry cannot be trusted to be responsible for the economic health and welfare of the US.
Bottom line, it has been proven once again that without ecomomic regulation and oversight the chances of a far more devistating depression can occur. Again, history is repeating itself.

13. Let's say these people exist
As you say that want to do away with our Social Compact. I say these people are America's enemies and should be arrested, and punished for a number of years, to learn how to act like decent human beings. That'll put an end to people like this for good.

10. Defazio Federal Hate Crime Complaint to be filed 7 29 2011
Defazio Federal Hate Crime Complaint to be filed 7 29 2011

I will be filing a formal ADA hate crime complaint with the US DOJ, at the insistence of Vice President Biden, against Rep. Peter Defazio today. Thursday, July 29, 2011 and with state of Oregon at http://www.doj.state.or.us/hate_crime_report.shtml

Housing Discrimination and abuse of the disabled sanctioned by State of Oregon and Rep. Peter DeFazio
At August 24, 2010 Coos Bay Oregon townhall meeting DeFazio attacks PTSD victim when her husband asks DeFazio to investigate $1.7 BILLION in US Government securities appearing in "The Faye and Lucille Stewart Foundation" go to http://www2.guidestar.org/organizations/93-0800814/faye-lucille-stewart-foundation.aspx year 2007 page 30 lists $1,684,955,468 in US GOVERNMENT SECURITIES AS ASSETS. Requires GuideStar free registration to download 990 pdf, use “save link as” save file or click 990 link to view pdf in most browsers. run by DeFazio friend Faye Hills Stewart II Lane County Commissioner Oregon.

At 8/24/10 Coos Bay town hall meeting Rep. Peter DeFazio had insisted he would go after the people involved in financial fraud in the mid 2000’s that caused the crisis. I suggested that he might look into his Lane County commissioner Faye Hills Stewart II (republican). My wife was seated a few chairs over from me. As I asked my question Rep Peter DeFazio jumped off the desk he was sitting on, rushed towards a person he knew had PTSD, waving his arms and yelling, "And this woman thinks her landlord shot at her 14 times, if you can believe that!!!" DeFazio refuses to release the video tape his staff made of the incident. PTSD victim is filing ADA complaint TODAY, under federal hate crime statute. What he did was to target a person he knew had a disability to intimidate her into not pursuing a legal act, seeking redress for being shot at 14 times by her landlord. That investigation will bring Faye Stewart’s foundation into the light of a courtroom. Why would a Democrat Congressman act so oddly to protect a Republican? Why did he use the specific “shot at by her landlord 14 times” reference? Why would his staff first agree to release the video, then refuse, and then deny that it exists?

I welcome an open discussion. I have documentation of the shooting incidents. The IRS 990 is what it is. Rep. Peter DeFazio has the video to refute my story if it in fact records something different than how I portray it. The U S DOJ and Vice President Biden feel it should be looked into. I have the letter from U S DOJ that I can post if someone will show me how.
