1. So, Madam Speaker....
...once Waxman, Conyers, et. al. gather the evidence (which by the way is flat out wrong, you indict first then gather evidence) are you going to call for articles of impeachment?

2. She says she cannot see the connection between torture
and impeachment! We are living in the damned twilight zone! She keeps talking about needing REPUBLICAN support to impeach. BULLSHIT! NANCY, YOU ARE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE BECAUSE YOU HAVE A 31 VOTE MAJORITY....YOU DON'T NEED REPUBLCANS TO IMPEACH. YOU JUST NEED A FREAKING SPINE.

Quit blowing smoke up our asses...we are not buying it!!!

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

4. She really doesn't get it
Reigning in the power of the president is what it's all about. This woman appears to be as dumb as a stick about the Constitution. The Constitution is what we sent them (the democrats) to fight for.

Yes Nancy, I'd like to see everyone just get along, but playing nice and being polite isn't going to cut it. She's been hood winked by the leadership of the DLC. They are controlling the strings on this. Nancy is just their puppet.

Ed Schultz is right. He said, that by taking impeachment off the table they have given Bush a green light to do whatever he wants.

5. oh do not be misled. She gets it all right!
She knows damn well what is at stake here. She is a corporate complicit enabler of traitorous actions by king george. She knows where her money comes from and does not give a shit about the country or us

11. The DLC dems realize that being second in line at the trough
is better than not being in line at all. The rest of us get the slop that falls to the ground & they are trying their damnedest to take that from us as well.

25. The trough.
LOL. :)

I stole that analogy from Arianna Huffington who wrote a wonderful book, guaranteed to raise your blood pressure, called, Pigs at the Trough: How Corporate Greed and Political Corruption Are Undermining America. It's a bit dated, yet current. Only the names have changed. Today, ENRON = HALLIBURTON or BLACK WATER or GE. :banghead:

Use the meme, spread the meme. Maybe it will catch on.

6. Come on now, who cares for the past, forget it and move on...
no seriously now, I don't get it. What sticks in my mind after this is one big "Uh", made of the plenty "er, uh, oh's".

She didn't answer the first question at all, by the way. What is impeachment for then, if it's not for putting pressure on the WH? And there is nothing that would put it back on the table?

"now he is getting resistance from a new Congress which is saying 'honor the constitution'", "in the meantime hold his feet to the fire".
And now, how is that working? I am not exactly impressed.

The case for impeachment needs to have some bipartisanship around it?! Waiting for republicans to persuade you to impeach now?

"The republicans were very destructive with what they did to Clinton with no grounds for nothing that related to the Constitution"
Is that right? So illegal war, torture, eavesdropping and whatnot don't count so far?
Later she says herself, in her view, the president has gone outside the law...and he is still doing it. I don't get it.

Doesn't she realize that she calls for bipartisanship while dealing with facsist criminals?

PS : She had to swallow before "success" when saying that Waxman is documenting with great success

7. May I add more fuel to the fire: check out this interview...
This is how she views people who are begging her to impeach Bush...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/09/AR2007100902006_pf.html

"Look," she said, the chicken breast on her plate untouched. "I had, for five months, people sitting outside my home, going into my garden in San Francisco, angering neighbors, hanging their clothes from trees, building all kinds of things -- Buddhas? I don't know what they were -- couches, sofas, chairs, permanent living facilities on my front sidewalk."

Unsmilingly, she continued: "If they were poor and they were sleeping on my sidewalk, they would be arrested for loitering, but because they have 'Impeach Bush' across their chest, it's the First Amendment."

19. hey thanks, my first ration of fuel almost burned up! There is another thread here somewhere...
where these quotes are discussed...

First Amendment, huh, sucks for sure. Heard that she avoids contact with her SF constituents for a while now. Don't know if it's true. If it is, maybe that'd be a first measure to save your garden Nancy Pelosi...

Anyhow, the ultimate "fuel" for me is that she called Bush and his family "great", "patriotic" and "lovely" in an Charlie Rose interview, I think. LOVELY! TOO FEW people seem to know about this!. PELOSI THINKS BUSH (FAMILY) IS LOVELY, GREAT AND PATRIOTIC!
And that she prays for him in some video posted here a few days ago.
That and officially taking impeachment off the table will serve a great deal to make Bush respect the Constitution, I am sure.

As a matter of fact, in the very least, taking impeachment officially off the table is a huge tactical mistake. Whatever you may think of impeachment, removing your biggest threat from your arsenal is not a great bet. It's like a cop telling the killer "I am gonna chase you and stuff but this gun here, don't worry, shooting you is off the table ( so feel free to do whatever you like )".

Seriously, you have to wonder WHY she said that. If she was complicit, she could have told Bush in private he doesn't need to worry. No need for this public statement. But then again, she would have to find a bunch of stupid excuses for the public ( which she does anyway because impeachment didn't go away by saying it's off the table ).
So is she hiding complicity behind bipartisanship for the sake of which impeachment is off the table? Or does she really believe herself in that bipartisanship crap? Or third, she doesn't have a clue at all what she is doing...

Anyway, thanks redirish, you got me burning once more! :grr: :hi: :grr:

24. Time to INCREASE the pressure on Pelosi!
Check out what the article states:
"It seemed that only the antiwar advocates had the power to wipe the smile off Pelosi's face"

I LOVE THAT!

The antiwar advocates (aka the MAJORITY of the American people) are getting to her. INCREASE the pressure! Bring in more Buddhas & Krisnas & Christs in front of her house. She needs to realize that being a Congresswoman and a "leader" is not membership into an exclusive private club. It is a JOB and she works for We The People. And we demand she impeach the prez and stop the war. NOW!

8. repugs have to get on board????
I don't remember too many Democrat's signing up for Clinton's impeachment proceedings. Pelosi is scared of impeachment because it would mean she would be next in line to deal with georgie's mess.

This is not an endorsement of Sheehan's campaign. This is just the cold, hard truth.

22. Well, "Honor the Constitution," Nancy -- !!!!! IMPEACH --- for crimes . . .for treason . . ..
Bankrupting the treasury is TREASON
Involving the nation in an illegal war is TREASON and crime

Additionally, Signing Statements are also in your arena --
Constitutionally, it is up to the Congress to ENSURE that the laws they pass are carried out with the spirt and intent with which they were written.

23. I guess the bar was set in 1998 when the only basis for impeachment
...is lying about blow jobs in the oval office. For all other presidential behavior and action, impeachment is off the table as far as speaker Nancy is concerned
