What do General Electric - EBay - Coca Cola - Verizon - Boeing - Prudential - and Capital One all have in common? They all paid their CEOs more than they paid in US taxes last year. According to a new report by the Institute for Policy Studies - 25 of the biggest, multi-billion dollar corporations - cut huge checks to their chief executives while dodging Uncle Sam and not paying their fair share in federal taxes last year.

I work for a Fortune 200 and the tax department, headed by the CFO, literally spends half of their time trying to figure out how to dodge taxes for the corp and subsidiaries . I know this because I interned for the legal department the first summer I was here and I was part of the subsidiary management team. I worked closely with tax and all the issues were about setting up the registered offices of various subsidiaries (of which we have hundreds) in the Cayman Islands and other places to avoid various incorporation and periodical taxes.
