Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has taken some heat for reportedly planning to quadruple the size of his $12 million California beachfront mansion, but at least one supporter is touting the jobs created by the massive upgrade.

“I want to tell you this,” a supporter told Romney during the opening of his Tampa headquarters Friday. “You created more jobs with your house than Barack Obama has in the last three and a half years.”

“That is true,” Romney replied.

The Romney campaign has argued that the mansion’s living space is only being doubled. “The ‘quadrupling’ was a measurement of added non-living space, including a basement and garage,” according to the New Hampshire Union Leader‘s Joe McQuaid, who spoke to Romney about the expansion.

1. each hour a dollar exists, it should produce something useful
If spent on a foolish luxury, those dollar hours are WASTE.

Romney could have paid the carpenters to spend those hours building homes for the hmless.

Both cases, carpenters get a job.

But romney wasted that dollar cycle , devoting the hours of that cycle to his extreme luxury.

Didn't he inherit megamillions...Amer Motors?

2. A basement is not living space? Then what is it and why have it? Why does
he need a bigger garage? If all this extra space is simply for storage (since it's not for living) he/they have WAY to much stuff.

4. OMG! Talk about "teh stupid' supporting Romney....most of the rest of
teh stupid have now moved on to Rick Perry, where real authentic stupid can find a better home among equals.

In a nation with tens of millions out of work, Romney's new PALACE in San Diego will employ, what, two hundred part-timers, some of them illegals, (same as those "subcontracted" that cut his lawn in Belmont, MA)....for a matter of weeks or months.

Just how stupid can some Romney apologists still be?
