Hosted by Ana Kasparian and Jayar Jackson of The Young Turks, http://www.youtube.com/tytuniversity|TYTUniversity> focuses on college students and related issues (tuition, finding a job, dating, parties, religion, campus controversy and everything in between). We're looking for students, faculty members and recent graduates struggling to find work to submit videos from across the globe that might be used on the show each week.

Summary: An http://www.youtube.com/academicreviser|AcademicReviser> video on the cost of college is discussed by Ana Kasparian and Jayar Jackson on TYT University.

2. BS on all the scholarship money available
Especially with computers students and parents continually work towards getting those scholarship dollars. I even suspect that essays are heavily edited (written) by parents for the bigger scholarships.

I agree with the sentiment that not everyone should be going to college. We should be looking at alternatives for many.

3. Start with the books!
They were outrageous 35 years ago and haven't gotten any more reasonable. There's no REASON for the furshlugginer things to be so costly.

(A side point - "college" doesn't HAVE to signify a university type setting. A college for truckers would still be a college. I support free college for all. It makes more sense now than it ever did. Whether vocational or cerebral, one should not have to start their adult life in debt three lifetimes over...)

4. I will never
regret attending a state school, paying off my full tuition a few months after graduation and having money left over to assist in the long, long wait before obtaining that "first" post college job. However I will forever have qualms with internships. Luckily I was able to grab one in a very small office setting, giving me the opportunity to learn tools and trades within my field. However, in the current times, with these private colleges holding bidding sessions to get that most holy internship spot at some television show or hedge fund, just to grab coffee, and cut out a potentially paid position is rather sickening.

Another suggestion is to take just one or two additional classes at a "name brand school"; if it matters that much to you, it might matter to someone you are interviewing with. Can't hurt the wallet too hard, and will give you a boost of confidence if you so seek it.
