2. Worst. Speaker. Ever.
I had a grad class, and I was assigned to do research on Lindbergh and the America First movement. I remember listening to some of his speeches. Boring, stilted, un-moving. But at the time, the country looked up to him. And of course, FDR absolutely hated him.

3. Actually, kind of shocked about the crowd response in Des Moines
Still a hotbed of isolationism. Seemed like the boo birds were drowning the supporters when Lindbergh mentioned the Roosevelt administration.

4. Disingenuous

Mr. Lindbergh's appeal to America to stay out of the fight with Hitler should be taken with a grain of salt. One should remember he was anti-communist, at the time that meant pro-Nazi. This speech is pure Nazi propaganda.

A 'grain of salt' or the flavor of isolationism? Perhaps 'Lindbergh made made mistakes but had some good ideas' is more to your liking.
