3. I don't agree with either of them.

Osama did not deserve a trial, but he would have been granted a trial had he surrendered and had not posed a threat. I don't believe Osama was executed at least not in the strictest sense, he was shot because he posed a threat or at least he posed an unknown danger. It wasn't just in the time frame that he was spotted and the Seals went in to get him that he had to surrender, he had 10 years to turn himself in and failed to do so. Then he made no attempt to surrender and as a matter of fact probably ordered his people to fight the Seals to the death which some of them did, and then he proceeded to hide behind one of his wives, she was shot for her trouble.

One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist and we all know Bin Laden used to be our freedom fighter.

The rest of the story is clouded. We probably won't be here when our freedom loving government finally releases the files 50 years from now of the true story.

That was an unproved assertion by the government. The idea of trial by jury is that such a thing is not enough to hang a person.

And she says the right to a fair trial is a right granted to Americans. I'd like her to find a place in the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. Constitution that says rights are just for Americans. In effect U.S. law protects rights mostly just for U.S. citizens, but that's only because it's mostly to U.S. citizens that U.S. law applies. In fact, according to conservatives like her, we're supposed to be spreading democracy around the world -- wouldn't that start with basics like a fair trial?

There is something to the argument that they had to kill him because they could not take him alive. I'm just not sure I believe it.
