What a piece of work even th ABC news story is.

"Health care providers give end-stage cancer patients like Boger therapies that focus on either providing symptom relief or a bit more time. They are generally very effective, but they are not designed to cure their cancer."

Stage 4 isn't 'end stage'. I had Stage 4 cancer of the tonsils. Most head, neck, and throat cancers aren't diagnosed until they are Stage 4 and radiation is a sure way to eliminate the tumor (along with just about everything else that's in the area)!
