4. My daughter was a Navy doctor deployed in the MidEast. She

tells me that the largest medical problem of all female servicepersonnel, enlisted or officers was bladder and U.T. infections caused by "holding it" overnight. The reason - they were afraid to go to the head at night for fear of being raped. Disgraceful.

really filibuster when they filibustered, and he said probably because there is no one there to hear it.

8. Believe it or not a dear female friend quite adamantly asserts that women are raped because they

asked for it. Some by dressing "provocatively" or by the manner in which they comport themselves. She believes that rape is committed because of the victim's provocative dress and/or good looks, not a crime of control and domination, and she holds herself up as an example. She is very attractive and has never been raped even though "I've walked into a room with 50 Hell's Angels and not one of them attempted anything and I was dressed in a miniskirt and wearing thigh high leather boots."

It saddens me greatly that someone I really care about is so eager to blame the victim when it comes to rape.

I'm sure that a Coast Guard enlistee was dressed provocatively. Yeah, right!

11. I've been in the military almost 20 years now, and I have yet to see one rape...

that's 6 different commands, 11 ships, and a whole bunch of time spent here and there. I'm not saying it doesn't happen- I'm sure it does. But, this makes it sound like it's a daily part of life, and I can assure you it isn't.
