O'Reilly said Lincoln was his "gold standard" because he put the country "over himself." Joy Behar quickly tried to connect that point to current politics. Referencing the crowds at GOP debates who have booed gay soldiers and dying patients, she asked, "is that the party of Lincoln?"

"I'm not going to get into the party politics because I don't care about that," O'Reilly said. "I'm telling you the country's in trouble." The co-hosts all seemed to be trying to pin him down on any particular person who he thought might get the country out of trouble, but he would not budge. "President Obama may be the guy, or the Republican party may be the guy," he said. "...I'm not going to talk about partisan politics."

When Behar started saying that President Bush had not asked Americans to sacrifice after 9/11 (as O'Reilly said the current or next president should), O'Reilly cut her off. "You're back to Bush-bashing and I think it's boring," he snapped.

"You're a historian, I'm giving you history!" Behar said to applause. "If you guys want to live your life as partisans, go ahead," O'Reilly said. "That doesn't interest me."

1. And that is the reaction any teabagger will get to serious proposals
Try to feign bipartisanship, and your history will sink you. Past partisan OReilly my ass.

2. "Non-partisan" Bill O'Reilly never declared the country "in trouble" when Bush was in office
He had his chance too. He early on made the statement on air that "if weapons of mass destruction are not found in Iraq, I will not support this war or this president".

When the inconvenient truth finally came out, O'Reilly went to another network to announce that because of special circumstances, he would indeed continue to support both. As far as i know, he never said that on his own show, satisfied with business as usual. He just picked up where he left off, pillorying everyone from Pelosi to Barney Frank for tying the Commander in Chief's hands.

What a partisan asshole.

3. This ass-hat's SUCH a bullshiter
Writes a book about history and crows about how we can learn from it, BUT doesn't want to talk about Bush's idiotic presidency. I'll buy one of his books only when I can no longer buy rolls of Charmin.

He is such a smug liar.
