The U.S. President has taken a firm stance against Iran, promising tough sanctions against the country over claims it was plotting to kill the Saudi ambassador to Washington. Two Iranians were charged with trying to hire members of a Mexican drug cartel to carry out the attack - something Tehran has dismissed as baseless. But Barack Obama says there's enough evidence of Iran's guilt and is calling on the international community to make it 'pay for its behavior' by further isolating Tehran. The U.S. is now considering sanctions on Iran's Сentral Bank, promising even more pressure. Professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran says Iran will deal with any pressure.

1. More Russia Today conspiracy bullshit.
From the same network that reports birtherism and 9/11 conspiracy theories as hard news.

2. Another knee-jerk reaction to an RT video
Conspiriracies are real things. They do happen, in the open and behind closed doors. Some in our benefit, many for personal benefit and to the detriment of the public.

This theory on a conspiracy to destabilise the region has legitimate points. Most notably is the complete lack of common sense that would have had to have been within all the members of these Iranian forces in the conduct of this assassination plot.

The US has stated and publicly how tightly its restrictions have gotten with security and how much wiretapping will be done with international calls. Iran certainly knows how extreme we've become in our security measures.

Right now these Iranian plotters would appear to have the intelligence of a man walking into an airport with a sign around his neck saying "I am a terrorist"

There's too much immediate distrust of RT just because the origin of the network is from a state our country has told us we have uneasy relations with. Consider this story

A homewoner walks outside and sees that it is raining. The rain becomes harsher and harsher. Thunder and lighting and wind kick up and it all seems rather disastrous. Then the town madman comes running up to him, haggard and wet, missing teeth, with a crazy look in his eye, "The dam's broke! We're gonna flood! Run for the hills!" The homeowner laughs and thinks to himself "This can't be true, this is a madman, not worth listening to."

3. K & R
for the response. Yes Rt has their bias but at this point their bias works to our advantage and that is to shed a light on this potential WW# starter. If someone tole me that under Obama we would still be contemplating starting a war with Iran I wouldn't believe it.

5. Realistically, I think America has become the
current USSR. Another politburo decision gone awry.
