Just love it when a Neocon slips up !

43. Even worse
Even worse is what he thinks -- that Arabs in those countries that have the oil are nothing more than objects to be manipulated to serve us or to be tamed when they resist our intentions. John Bolton just exposed what American foreign policy will be under a Reactionary Party administration -- an attempt to impose American corporate power upon people who don't want it in their countries.

Grab the resources cheaply and control the market... it's bad enough here, and just imagine what it will be to people who don't share America's depraved and superstitious culture.

Obviously, we want to take over the entire ME --

We've been bombing Iraq for more than 30 years ---

We're still after Iran --

We're still in Afghanistan --

Israel has been our centerpiece of war mongering after we armed RW Fundi Israelis and

buried peace loving Israel!!

52. That was 1975 --- !! Time flies when you're having fun! 35 years of warmongering in ME ....
Nixon armed RW hawks in Israel -- and buried peace loving Israelis --

and we've been funding their warmongering which has benefited our goals

since then. Evidently Israel and US weapons production is so closely

intertwined that you can barely tell the difference between them. We've

even stored nuclear missiles in Israel.

Control of the ME and its oil was certainly the aim.

Iran is still on the agenda -- and Uganda?

No oil -- no wars --

And that's why drilling in Gulf -- BP and oil spills -- are a national security

issue and can't be treated as a threat to the environment!

That's the insanity of Imperialism and Capitalism -- !!

Both are suicidal --

And, it is simply, again, Capitalism --

Capitalism is intended to move the wealth and natural resources of nations

from the many to the few and it has done that successfully all over the world.

:nuke:

Thank you!! Good to see other fans of this movie --

:hi:

14. This speech absolutely must go out on "Armed Forces Radio,"
and every publication that is geared towards our military. To many, this will not be a surprise. The one's who consider themselves "pragmatists" and many other sociopaths, are in our military and know that they are "stealing for the man."

Just as General Smedley Butler admitted, decades ago, they do the dirty work for the (now trans-national) corporations. Still, the majority of these military personnel believe that what they do is all about patriotism and helping to spread democracy. IMO, when they hear the truth, from Ambassador Bolton, they will be enraged and look at their service in a different light. they may realize that the main difference between them and paid mercenaries is mainly that they thought they were fighting for the right reasons. Mercenaries have (at some point) realized that they are fighting for someone's profit and decided that they deserve to get their share of the profit. This, IMO, is why many of them lose their "humanity." Knowing that you are killing for pay instead of country forces people to kill quickly, ask no questions and to look out for #1. That is the perfect military person. That may be why "they" have hirred these mercenaries to brutalize civilian populations, people of honor (most of our military) would not do this. The "bottom line" of the corporations depend on the complete subjugation of the country that they want to steal from.

This is just one reason that our government must be completely changed. I do believe that when our military hear the truth, straight from "the horse's mouth", that their attitudes will change. They may decide to join OWS.

25. here's a reminder how explicitly they denied this motive
One spin I've heard is, "of course we want to control the oil. The antiwar people were accusing us of stealing the oil".

Well, at the time, they denied wanting to control the oil as well.

http://www.defense.gov/transcripts/transcript.aspx?transcriptid=1946

(...)

Al Jazeera: If you go to Iraq, your forces, how long do you envisage staying on there?

(...)

The United States is not interested in the oil in that region from Iraq. That's just utter nonsense. It is not interested in occupying any country. We are interested in having our forces go home. But we recognize that a coalition might be necessary for a short period until a government of Iraq could be created by the Iraqis.

Q.Lots of people ask why is the United States of America the only super power in the world targeting Iraq. They say well, Iraq is a pot of black gold and it is in a strategic position which would facilitate for you the next stage of your agenda for the region.

(...)

A.You used the word black gold. I've seen the same kinds of articles and suggestions that that's the case.

You know, I've been around economics long enough to know that if somebody owns oil they're going to want to sell it. If they want to sell it, it's going to end up in the market. And it doesn't matter if they sell it to Country A or Country B. If they sell it, it's going to be in the market and that's going to affect the world price. Money is fungible and oil is fungible. This is not about oil, and anyone who thinks it is, is badly misunderstanding the situation.

Al Jazeera: But it depends on who controls the oil.

Rumsfeld: Anyone who controls it wants to sell it. It doesn't matter. That is not a problem. If you own -- If a bad person owns the oil and a good person owns the oil -- different oil -- and the bad person doesn't want to sell it to you but the good person is willing to, it doesn't matter because then the good person sells it to you. You're not going to be buying this person's oil but this person's going to be selling it to somebody else. And the world price will be the same. Everyone will have the oil they need. They aren't going to horde it, they're not going to keep it in the ground. They need the money from the oil. So it's not a problem.

41. Yes, he did
Invading another country to secure its markets with favorable trade deals by force is called imperialism, Mr. Bolton. It is an institution on a par with slavery. In slavery, a man's right to collect wages for his labor are abrogated in favor of a "superior" master. In imperialism, the right an entire nation to market and profit from its natural resources are abrogated in favor of a "superior" mother country.

And you, Mr. Bolton, believe that children of America's ghettos and barrios should die in your place in imperial wars that you favor because you think you are "superior" to them.

The slave is exalted above his master. Each citizen of a colony is exalted above the imperialist. And the children of America's poor neighborhoods are exalted about the war monger who sends them to die in pointless wars for a rich man's profit.
