2. We all know someone or many on Wall St should be in prison for the
trillion dollar heist. But as long as Geithner keeps protecting these criminals(I cleaned it up) he is just a guilty as they are.
We Could start with the CEO of Goldman, then AIG execs.
The Lehman Bros default was just a decoy to get the attention off of others..

5. Silly
We all have hind legs - granted, we just call them legs but that's just because we want to pretend we are different from "animals" when we are not.

16. nitpicking. I've heard that term all my life. It's about not being subservient,
being assertive etc. There's no hidden meaning there.

rolled up in a fetal position, quaking and scared.

It is about standing up and roaring!

21. I knew someone would say she was calling him a dog. It's an old term, I've heard it before.
Edited on Sun Oct-23-11 07:37 PM by Divine Discontent
It is nitpicking. He needs to stop catering to the wealthy and stand up against them, that is the point here, not some game of damned semantics, there are some people dying in the cold every day in America, and millions going to bed hungry, and thousands with no bed at all!

Get it here now, or one of a million other designs! http://www.zazzle.com/republicans_2012_keeping_millions_out_of_work_bumper_sticker-128659602907896843?rf=238107662556833486eping_millions_out_of_work_bumper_sticker-128659602907896843?rf=238107662556833486

where she hid the author in her home --breaking his legs at one point to keep him there. She gives me the willies every time I see her pic.

But good for her for saying this.

good on her, but for 20 years the talk radio gods, on que from the think tanks, have been taking free potshots at our candidates and causes, and lying us into wars, obstructing everything progressive.

and there still is NO organized opposition to the right's best weapon.

17. Agreed Kathy.
However, unless and until we repeal the current corrupt election system, they'll just buy themselves another one. The problem is systemic. Capitalism is CANCER. You can't make it pretty with lipstick. You can't make it smell better with perfume. It is a deadly rotten disease through and through and will kill people in order to survive in the end.

- When we come to truly understand this, then "fighting the rat bastards" might actually work.......

24. In Primary Colors, Kathy Bates' character still makes me cry
every single time I see it. I know characters are separate from the real actors portraying them but since that movie, I have held Kathy Bates in extremely high esteem. She is totally *kick ass*

For those who haven't seen it...you must. I won't give away any spoilers. She was amazing.

And it is great to see the really wonderful term Rat Bastard resurrected! It is spot ON.

...and now he is supposed to fight them! people are in denial. Obama is a politician who said what he had to say to get elected, but like nearly all politicians he serves the 1%, the "change" thing was for suckers, end of story, get over it, learn from it and lets move on.

27. Obama will never stand up and fight.. never support his base...
After 3 years... no chance that he'll start now.. or anytime in the future.

Why Should he?

People will support him no matter what his record. Because the voters have no choice.
That being said.. is he better than Herman Cain of Michele Bachman?

I guess so.

31. True -- and it's the policy of the THIRD WAY which runs the Dem Party now to "ignore the base" and
Edited on Sun Oct-23-11 10:26 PM by defendandprotect
that populism and populist discussion/debates are "the equivalent of Karl Rove

propaganda of extremism" -- !!! *

So we've had more than 20 years of Koch Bros. funded DLC influencing the party and

its candidates and agenda -- and now we have their Third Way pulling it even further

to the right!!

Are they kidding -- do they really think that liberals will support/$$$$$$$$$ this?

Some info on the Third Way --

http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2011/07/third-way-document-proves-democratic-party-supports-institutionalized-looting-by-banks.html

And make no mistake about the role of Third Way. Third Way runs the policy apparatus of the Democratic Party. In Congress, staffers attend regular Third Way policy briefings, where the group hands out pre-packaged legislative amendments in legal form, generic press releases, polling around those policy ideas, and talking points. It’s a soup-to-nuts policy apparatus. Most of these ideas are harmless – like increased volunteerism – but some are not, like various tax proposals.

The group has enormous juice. On the Congressional side, it has six honorary Senate co-Chairs, and seven House-side co-Chairs. Jim Clyburn, a co-Chair, is in the House Democratic leadership. Two current cabinet members are former co-Chairs. Steny Hoyer, the House minority whip, held regular briefings for the freshmen member staff in the last Congress.

On the administration side, former Third Way board member Bill Daley is now White House chief of staff. Ron Klain, who was Biden’s Chief of Staff, is now with Third Way. The White House is pretty much full of Third Way-style apparatchiks.

Third Way also echoes, nearly entirely, the White House’s political line (though it is slightly ahead on gay rights). Here’s Third Way praising the Gang of 6 talks, opposing cut, cap, and balance, encouraging entitlement cuts, pushing various free trade agreements

and some more --

http://www.rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/Marshall_Will

* That was according to Jonathan Cowan, Pres. Third Way in his appearance two weeks or

so ago on C-span/Washington Journal
