Chris Bowers, Daily Kos, Annabel Park, Coffee Party USA & Joshua Holland, AlterNet. #OWS Oakland turned into a war zone today - as police armed with flash grenades, smoke bombs, and rubber bullets shut down the encampment in the early hours of this morning. Just before 5am - roughly 200 Oakland police officers in riot gear surrounded the Occupy Oakland encampment - before moving in - firing tear gas and shooting rubber bullets on the peaceful protestors. The raid took just 20 minutes - and afterwards - more than 80 people were arrested and the entire camp was dismantled and trashed - including tents - food - and medical supplies. Plus "Enough is Enough" rally on October 29th - this Saturday - at the Capitol. The Coffee Party standing with the OWS movement.
