Democrats need to take a good, long look in the mirror - because they've forgotten just who the heck they are. Yesterday - the 6 Democrats on the Gang of 12 Super Committee introduced their first proposal - as in their first offer - their starting point heading into negotiations with Republicans over the next month. And in it - they propose cutting $400 billion from Medicare. That's a $400 billion cut from Medicare - the program Democrats created - and fought hard for against Republicans like Ronald Reagan, who even voiced a recording heard by millions of Americans suggesting that Medicare would put us on the road to a Soviet style of socialism. That's a $400 billion cut from Medicare - a program that 78% of Americans want left alone! And that's a $400 billion cut from Medicare that's only going to get worse because - again - this is the first offer on the table from Democrats - so once Republicans start negotiating - then that number is going to get bigger and bigger and bigger. Why on earth would Democrats put their second-most prized creation on the table for sacrifice - when everyone knows Republicans aren't going to compromise on raising taxes on millionaires and billionaires no matter what Democrats offer up? Have Democrats not learned their lesson yet?

2. Max Baughtkus is up for re-election in 2014
He'll be 72 years old. If he runs, do Montana Democrats have a primary opponent ready?

I don't live in Montana, but I hope Montana Democrats are thinking about ousting the DINO who engineered the scuttling of the public option from the 2009 health care bill.

3. If there is one red cent available for corporations to grab,
the politicians will die trying to get it for them. The government is completely corrupted and something has to make this known to all the 99% who are getting screwed by D.C. and its corporate owners. We need to push them over the line, not wait for them to cross it on their own. At least do this--put your money in credit unions; stop using credit cards; stop buying corporate food; buy as little gas and oil as you can; turn your heat down just a little. Every penny you save is one they won't get. Stop acting as if everything will be okay. It isn't, and if you think the politicians will stop the insanity, you are wrong. They are causing it. If you think an election will fix things, it won't. The only way to hurt corporations is by diminishing their profits. They cannot pay their employees in government, or elsewhere, if they don't have enough money. We cannot force most politicians to take a side, because they already have and it's not our side. Let's see how much work the bankruptcy courts can do. If corporations are going to send their jobs overseas, let them go with the jobs. If they will not contribute to the American economy, then they should get the hell out of the country that the rest of us pay for. They want the rights of Americans without the responsibilities. Go! Now! Get out! Follow Blackwater/Xe's example and move to Dubai.

9. Amen. Wake up Democratic party
Start being the party of the people. The road to supporting the 1% has always belonged to Republicans, and if you choose that road in today's political climate, you will lose.

Look at Elizabeth Warren. She's a shoo-in for the Senate to take the seat from Brown. Why? She's the genuine article, isn't scared of saying she's the genuine article, and acts like a Democrat.
