Anthony Holm, Republican Strategist joins Thom Hartmann. A citywide strike is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2nd - when patriots plan to march to the Port of Oakland - the nation’s fifth busiest port - and shut it down. Occupy Oakland is encouraging other occupations around the country to promote similar actions in their respective cities. So with a nationwide strike looking like it's the next step in the Occupy Wall Street movement - isn't is becoming harder and harder for our lawmakers - in particular Republican lawmakers - to ignore average American patriots who make up the 99% movement and their issues of income inequality and the theft of America by banksters?

1. Wait, what is that I see in the distance?
Is that a snowball rolling downhill picking up speed and getting freaking humongous?

2. why would you make any more?
Is this guy clueless? Lets see. If you make 2 million you still get over two hundred fifty thousand on top of the million. Which alone is more then most people make.

3. I love that they're wearing gas masks now...
Arm chair protesters should buy the front line gear to stand up to the cops. Gas masks and rubber bullet shields...

4. I agree, I wish I could
I'm afraid the best I'm going to be able to manage on my budget are some crocheted hats and scarves (going to get to work on those this week), and a few dollars donated here and there for legal funds.

But I did find a website that sells them if anyone with a bit more in the way of cash is interested:

5. In today's society, people mainly work for unlimited profit.
That includes Dr.'s, politicians, health care workers, etc. It didn't used to be the only reason for working in your chosen profession. Fortunately, for us there are still a lot of professionals who are not all about money. Admittedly, there are a lot less. That may be because of the "more profit" incentive. Young people see it and think, "hey, I can make millions." They see that there is for most of the wealthy, no incentive to "give back" unless it may increase your profits in the long run. We see a lot of that kind of "donating" especially in the educational field.

I have been lucky. I have had a few Dr.'s tell me, when I was afraid of losing my health insurance, "don't worry, I'll treat you for free." I have never had to take one of them up on that promise, but I know that they would treat me for free because they are not in their profession only for the money. Alternately, I have known Dr.'s who wouldn't give you the time of day, or if they did, they treated you like a POS, if you didn't have money or insurance.

When we had the 74-91% taxes for earnings over a generous amount, we had more people in lucrative positions who were there because it was what they loved or because they could make a difference. There is no incentive for that since the "redistribution of wealth" in the upward direction that has happened in the last 30+ years. Even the weapon makers knew that the more they made the more they paid. that tends to remove incentives for creating armed conflicts. When you have a society that is only incentivized by profit, you have sociopaths in charge.

The R/W'ers love to say, "oh so you (socialists) want to redistribute the wealth." Hey, narcissist it has already been done. Only it was done to the detriment of the majority. It was "redistributed" upwards instead of the way it should have gone. That, IMO, is our big problem. Now, we need to re-redistribute the wealth. The way it was before we allowed Reagan's corporate puppeteers to take over our country.
