Conservative televangelist and 700 Club host Pat Robertson says that Christians should not take part on the Occupy Wall Street movement. What would Jesus do? The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

2. I'm surprised he didn't offer an alternative
suggestion involving sending him money instead. That old fraud isn't nearly as entertaining as the end of the world fraud.

6. One of my favorite comedians, Brother Dave Gardner,
once did a bit about how Jesus kicked the moneychangers out of the temple and then Billy Graham came along and built a temple to the moneychangers. That was in 1959 before a Southern and (I assume) extremely Christian audience, albeit more than a little wasted. But I'm still amazed that they didn't shoot him.

I chose "if there's anything bad in the world, a preacher's gonna find it first" because it's as relevant now as it was in the 50s and 60s, if not more so.

7. Sorry, Pat. You don't speak for me OR Jesus.
Jesus would be part of the 99%. Therefore I am.

Besides, who wants credulous fools who follow 700 Club in their movement anyway?

We don't want your "Christians" Pat, thank you very much.

(but we will accept them if they come to realize their plight)

Proof there is no God.
This fucking shyster and snake oil salesman needs a good kick in the nads. A criminal under the color of the Church is still a criminal.

10. Cenk...you nailed it.......
Many, I am not going to say most, true Christian and so-called Christian leaders are either ignorant about Jesus' message or they blatantly cherry-pick the Bible to suit their own nefarious objectives. They don't' seemed too concerned about Jesus' mandate to help the poor but rail against homosexuals which Jesus said NOTHING about. In his culture the idea of a homosexual was non-exisstant. Homosexual expression was focused on the need to humiliate and denigrate your enemies. Pat Robertson will find himself looking toward heaven from his very warm place in HELL and wondering why his white-hair is singed.

11. A total fraud.

Exactly right.

The irony is that Robertson actually lists exactly what the protest is about!
Righteousness (not in the way he means it), fighting oppression, and helping the poor.
It just underscores that he is an utter hypocrite.

12. just accept your fate of having no home, no job--living out of your car
because if you're a "good xtian", you wouldn't be jobless, homeless and living in your car? Is that this buffoon's line of reasoning?

13. If Pat Robertson were struck by lightning
and turned into a smoking piece of pork rind, a lot of people around here, I suspect, would start going to church.

19. How Pat Robertson thinks he knows what a Christian does.....
...is beyond me. In fact from my reading, there are precious few Christians in the world at all. Not unless they're doing, you know, "Christian things" like this:

Matthew 25 : 35-46
For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

- When I see some Christians doing some of this stuff, and giving everybody some of that LOVE they're supposed to be so famous for, then let me know.......
