Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer responded to Republicans gutting an anti-bullying bill by inserting language that specifically allows bullying to occur based on religious or moral reasons. This legislation is a step backwards rather than forward in protecting Michigan's students in the classroom

And I used to be proud of my Michigan heritage. The tentacles of Reich-Wing idi(ot)ology are creeping thru state legislatures like the roots of a deadly fungus. There are MORAL GROUNDS that advocate bullying??? OH! That's Right - we see them being exercized every day in state and federal legislative bodies. The Rethugs have it down to a science.

EDIT TO ADD........ A PASS for religious bullying??? Really??? Wasn't that the lead-up to the Holocaust?

2. So, I am starting to believe that the schoolyard bullies
grow up to be Republicans.

3. I am betting you are right ..
The sickest part is that the Republicans are encouraging this, making it okay to bully under certain circumstances. How about this... Schools employ as part of phsyical education, martial arts classes, so the victums can learn to defend themselves. I learned an awful lot taking Judo and Kendo in school. It also gave me the confidence and a desire to learn new things.

4. This is all about hoping the bullies drive gays into suicide.
They think their religion gives them license to treat the "others" like animals.

5. State sanctioned bullying in the guise of anti-bullying law?
That says so much about our society, and none of it is good. I cannot understand how anyone who claims to follow the teachings of Jesus could tolerate this. It is disgusting how capitalism perverts everything it touches.
