2. Just another spin doctor |
|
It amazes me that these conservative spin doctors, actually this guy was pretty good at the spin game, expect you to accept everything they say as the gospel truth but when you try to make a point they challenge your sources or out right claim you are wrong and don't know what you are talking about. In this case a good example is the host citing Alan Simpson as a source for his quote and the spin doctor sort of out of hand saying well since I didn't see or hear Simpson I won't comment. Which I hear as meaning 'that quote makes your point and I can't outright deny it so I will try to put a question in people's minds as to whether that is what he really said or that the quote might have been taken out of context'.
On top of all that this is a typical conservative apologist/attack dog. By that I mean when he speaks conservatives can do no wrong, everything bad is the liberal/Democrats fault. For example, whatever cuts and pluses happened during Reagan's tenure in the White House were obviously due to how great Reagan was but anything bad that happened was due to the fact that the Democrats had at least partial control of the White House. If you believed this kind of conservative bs all we would need to do to live in a real Utopia is to always elect nothing but conservative Republicans and the world would be perfect (of course in their eyes they probably think that is true).

4. History revisionism? This goof not only drank the kool-aid on Reagan, he ate the friggin' pitcher. |
|
It's pretty black-and-white on Reagan: 1. nearly tripled the national debt 2. record budget deficits 3. significantly increased the size of government 4. took the U.S. from the world's largest creditor nation to the largest debtor nation 5. 11 tax hikes 6. record trade deficits 7. let the MIC genie out of the bottle to our present levels of our-of-control military spending and war mongering
I'm surprised that doofus didn't throw out the "liberal media" canard. He did everything short of that.
He looks like he climbed out of his mom's basement, threw on a tie and tried to argue the Reagan legacy on Pakman's show.
It's pretty well known that if Reagan took a litmus test administered by today's Republicans, he'd be branded a flaming liberal.

The interviewer was too kind and didn't hold the punditoids feet to the fire enough about his provable lies.
